my baby daisy RIP!

hello everyone
i havent been on here for a long time but am in need of a little support

my 15 month old cat died yesterday after being knocked down in the road
and i am absolutely devastated

i have 5 cats

milly 8
gizzy 7
dolly 15 months old
charlie 12 months

i just feel like my whole world has ended and it has left me very depressed
i just miss her so much because i feel so guilty and that i feel it was my job to protect her and i didnt

i also suspect she had internal injuries and as i picked her up after the accident blood came out of her mouth, her neck was also very swollen and she couldnt use her back legs at all, i just wish i knew what her injuries exactly were as i believe i killed her when i picked her up, i didnt get the chance to take her to the vet as she died before i had the chance to set off so i buried her in the garden

my cats are also very upset and just searching all the time and seem very distressed, dolly and daisy came from the same litter and i just dont know what to do

i have a dog 10 years old who is just sad all the time and giving me her paw

im trying to deal with this myself without trying to comfort my cats as well

i feel like my life will never be the same again, the house feels so different now

im now petrified to allow my other cats out incase it happens again

thanks

I am so sorry. I have lost kitties to the road, and I know it's devastating.

I truly don't think you made it worse by picking her up. It sounds like she was pretty badly injured.

I am so, so sorry.

I second that.

Nothing you did - or could have done - would have saved her.

We only get our beloved cats on loan for a short time - some shorter than others, and we have to give them back. Her time had come just like I lost my beloved Snowy today.

Time will heal and you will one day think about her with lovely memories.

I also lost my beautiful Felix to the road 12 years ago. He was the same age. It devasted me but I can think of him now - and I think of him often without the awful hurt it used to bring. Just like you, I loved Felix dearly and although he was too young I know in the short time I had him he was a much loved cat and I'm sure he knew it.

to you

RIP lovely Daisy. Play at the Bridge sweetheart
