I ask this because my cat is begging for wet food hourly now, its been crazy the last week with my health I dont have enough time focus on the little one much. Maybe it's just the steroid shot from two weeks ago but he was perfectly happy with one can a day and suddenly every hour he is begging for food this week. He is at the month mark and I ponder if this food tricks cats into thinking its not protein, well they are carnivores so ponder if its like feeding them an all rice diet. Maybe this won't last long. I sure as heck will not get a decent answer from the vet he thinks this stuff is the greatest food ever and even claims the corn and soy is processed in such a way you cant look negatively at them as well as protein.

I found the text in this book spot on, but the illustrations aren't helpful at all. Good over all book

This mat caught my eye because of its size and texture, which traps fine litter rather well. It's large enough for jumbo litterboxes, which is also a plus. It's not quite as easy to clean as a...

This scoop was a freebie with some clumping litter I bought last year, and I like it so much that I've bought a second one. It's perfect for fine clumping litter, which it sifts very thoroughly....

I will give corn gluten a okay mark for protein as long as it is NOT the main one...
Z/D is designed for use up to 12 weeks( though I believe someone said the rep told them it is find long term... the micronized proteins would scare me long term)

It used to be for short term used a while back, but it is no longer the case - it is balanced and complete nutritionally, to be used for as long as necessary, short or long term, including life time.
IMO, what is going on with your cat is a side effect of the steroid shot, as oppose of because of the Z/D. Bugsy also got extremely hungry on it, and as a result gained many pounds as I was free feeding dry at the time (he was not on Z/D then).
Z/D has a dry food - you can leave some dry food out for him to nibble on it throughout the day, just make just to measure the amount and not free feed. This way you can feed him the wet in the am and in the pm.
Also, one can just might not be enough for him depending on his weight and energy level. You can try giving him 1 1/2 cans a day, divided in three meals...
In any case, keep a close eye on his weight because of the steroids...
The effects of the steroid shot should wear off in 3-4 weeks.
