For those of you in the Northern Hemisphere, don't forget that the Perseid Meteor shower will be under way for the next three nights.

If you've got a tripod, digital camera and a fast trigger finger, you could get some potentially breathtaking shots.

Watch the Northeastern sky.

I would be able to see that from my windows. I live in the city so I don't know if I can see it, but if the sky is clear tonight, I'll definitely try. No telescope though

I've missed it the last three years.
It's monsoon season here, so even if it doesn't rain it's frequently cloudy at night.

I live in Chicago...way too much "light pollution" to see such a thing...pretty much all we can see is Venus and the moon...and on a good night, maybe the Big Dipper. Maybe.

I'll be out! Tried going out last night, but it was too cloudy and wet to see much of anything. I love watching the Perseids....and from our backyard, we have a great view of the sky.

There's no place like home
I went outside for about an hour at 11PM and saw quite a few smaller ones and 2 that were large enough to have the smoke trails behind them. I took a nap for a while and went back out at 1:30 to catch them in peak time. It was crystal clear around midnight, and half the sky clouded up by 2AM. So I saw some later, but not as many as I was hoping to.

Just at sunset, Venus, Mars and Saturn were out and later in the night there was another planet (Jupiter perhaps?). Those were also very cool.
