As everyone else, it has been hot and humid all summer and DH and I keep falling asleep! We do not have AC, but our house is full of fans.

Whenever we sit down lately, our heads fall back and we are out. It is crazy! We are both very active people in the cooler weather. My DH is always outside fixing, building and maintaining. Me too.

But with the weather, we have been laying low. If I didn't know better, Id say we have CO2 poisoning! But we don't. Grandkids are here running around and we are nodding off!!

My 36 year old daughter has the same prob at her house. We fight to stay awake. My late dad always said "I get so sleepy when a storm is coming". I'd just like to know "why".

I just looked at my cats....they are all sleeping. Maybe I am taking on their behaviors?

Just thought I'd see if anyone else has this problem. Thanks

It is hot here too. But it doesn't affect me the way it does you. I have lost my appetite and I think it is because it is so hot. Just kick back in front of the fan and nod off. The grandkids will call you when they need you.

I am having same issue...I also have lymes so not sure how much is weather and how much is the disease. 28 and my neighbors are more active then me and are all seniors...sigh. we have 2 acs-a smal one doing alot more then it should be(6500 btu and its coveringthe kitchen, dining, living and bath. makes it bearable and cheap enough to run) and we have a 8k in bedroom...where i try to stay all day(if i could knock down the on wall into bathroom id never have to move lmao

I have to take double Ambien to get to sleep and it is HOT here. But I do know that heat and humidity cause very many people to become drowsy. I kind of have the feeling you probably do not drink as much coffee as I do.

What time do you go to bed at night and what time do you wake up in the morning? There is a reason for siestas - eat late, go to bed late, get up early and sleep in the hottest part of the day.

BEG: Well the kids are so good. I just don't want them to remember me as a sleepy gramma!

CAA: Lymes. oh boy. That could prob have some bearing on it. Does that ever go away?

SW: Ya know, B12 might be a good idea. Can't hurt.

P and A: I have started having a cup of coffee about 2 pm to ward off the drousies.

Butzie: I go to bed at ;8:30 or 9 and up at 3 am. The thing is, my DH gets more sleep than I as he goes to bed at 9 or 9:30 and gets up at 5. And he is worse than I am at staying awake.

I am beginning to think it is something that I will never really know the answer to. I guess it just affects people different. On the cool days I am wide awake. Can't wait for winter!!

Thanks for the input guys!

The heat knocks me out. I'm ok inside the house, but when i'm in the conservatory in the afternoon i can feel my eyes getting heavy..........I listen to my body at that point and have a nana nap with the fur kids

Yep, that sounds like us. Afternoons are a struggle to get through. Just to sit down for a minute and read, and I am gone.

Come on fall!!

Once I get home in the afternoon, the humidity and heat from outside has drained me to the point that if I even think of watching TV or reading, it's nap time! I hate taking naps on work days because I'll end up having trouble falling asleep later that night
