I was just talking to my friend at the shelter I foster for and she was asking about and confirming the adoptions for Fillbert (going home on the 19th) and Watson (going home on the 13th).
I asked about possibly placing the other 3 boys in the pet store who adopts out for them to get them some exposure, but she said the cats who are there now aren't even moving and in fact they just had 2 cats returned to them because they were "too fat"! Now you have to see these cats... They ARE huge. One is female, standoffish but has it good right now in the shelter manager's office. The second is Herbie...
Herbie is not only huge, he's a real sweetheart. Dana and I were in the store one time and had him lovin' on us and kept remarking on how we've never seen a cat so huge! Big, huge lovebug. So Angela tells me that Herbie is in a cage, by himself, in the front of the shelter and everyone just walks on by him, completely ignoring him and how it's breaking her heart.
I get off the phone with her, tell Dana about Herbie, he rolled his eyes, asked if he was fixed. Yep, he sure is, so guess who's getting another foster boy after work today?
Angela just laughed when I called her back and told her... She knew what she was doing.
