Daily Thread Monday August 9th

Well I guess Nat is still mentally on vacation. I am sure she is busy getting back in the groove of things.

DS is napping. We had a fun more of batting the ball and vacuuming.

It's pretty humid outside. I was hoping to visit the playground. It's the kind of day that it's hard to breath outside.

I might bake something instead or do the kiddy pool outside. I am just not one to sweat outside though I know my son would enjoy it.

Time to clean the bathrooms while DS is still napping. Laundry is in the washer and the dryer. DH loves clean sheet and towel day.

Hi all.

We had a GREAT weekend. Saturday was my brother's birthday, and he was pretty down after just breaking up with his fiance. Dana and I went with him and Mom and went zip lining! We had a BLAST!

I can't believe my Mom actually did it.

I did not want to come to work today... I had another terrible night's sleep.

Hopefully tonight will be better.

Morning!

Two miles on the treadmill this morning....for the first time in a long time!

That knee is definitely getting stronger!

DH will be leaving for Vegas this Friday morning; he has to go there on union business for a week or so. And he always takes cookies with him. So I made some snickerdoodles for him (Put them in the freezer, so they'd still be there when he leaves; what that man does to a batch of snickerdoodles is amazing; I swear he inhales them). A couple of the guys called him about plans for meetings and such while they're in Vegas and they all asked him if his wife was making cookies, what kind, and if she'd be kind enough to make some extra cookies for them. One of the guys asked if I was making those "cookies with pecans". I'm hoping he meant my Pecan Sandies, and yes, I'm making some.

Not a problem. There are still a couple kinds I want to make yet for him to take, including Sandies, so tomorrow night will be spent baking cookies.

Kailie, what is zip-lining?

Afternoon all!

I took today off as well to do laundry and get organized for the week. Just had lunch with DH who is enjoying the first day of his residency. The place he works is only 5 minutes from home!

I have piles of laundry to do and have to clean out the car as well. Road trips..aaaah.

I hope you all had a good week while I was gone, and thanks M for starting the daily!

Oh I just made Betty Crocker Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. I tried to leave some for DH.

Good afternoon/evening.

Been having one of those days, where the time flies too quickly at work to get things done. Then I left to go deal with financial aid at the college because they want me to do all this verification crap for my FAFSA. Got all my paperwork together and the lady doesnt even look at me and tells me "go see your advisor about it and bring a picture ID." What the heck?! It says go to FinAid office to submit!

Not getting to eat any lunch today didn't help my mood!

Then I went to Walgreens to get my Yaz prescription refilled since I'll be on the road to/from Colorado when I need my new pack. Well last time the girl set up auto refills, and now they tell me that if I fill it now, insurance won't pay anything for them. It's close to $100 without insurance paying ($55 if ins. pays some). They've been giving me Gianvi(sp?), the generic, lately, which is only $15 with insurance paying. I'm tempted to just go ahead and fill it early anyway, because $100 is cheaper than what could happen if I don't have them. The cashier told me to find a Walgreens on my trip. So now I have to figure out where a Walgreens is in areas I've never been to before in my life.

I'm going to see if I can stop auto-refills and if that will help.

Gotta finish planning the rest of the trip tonight. All the frustration for some reason has got me wanting to be "creative", so I'm cooking penne in marinara with Italian sausage and garlic bread on the side tonight for dinner

Hubby will be surprised.

Evening all,

I'm prostrate on the sofa relaxing in our 85F house. Yay for no A/C on the hottest week of the year! I have 5 fans going and spending another night on the air mattress in the family room where its a bit cooler. But Bender and Bakke think its fun to jump from the top of the sofa onto the air mattress. So night #3 with poor sleep. No end in short term for temps either.

Vegging out in family room later and watching tv.

Not very motivated......
