It's time to celebrate Gumby B. Bendy Cat's first birthday!!
Last Oct, I took you home 2 days before you were scheduled to be euthanized as this tiny little 6 week old ball of anger & fury. I had little hope for my success in socializing you, nor for your success in adoption. But euthanizing a tiny little kitten? Made me sick to my stomach to think about it. It wasn't your fault no other bothered to fit their cat & you were raised by a feral momma.
You were Camille then. Soon you became know by the nickname "Gumby", for you slept in stupid positions. Eventually it became clear you were staying, so you needed an official name - Gumby B. Bendy Cat.
Your birthday was estimated to be mid-early August 2009....so here we are. Your very first birthday. You're not very friendly, you spend most of your days hiding out & your nights living it up! You have claws, and you know how to use them. You only let me touch you, pet you, or pick you ever. Who needs other people?
You love your Uncle Dory, even if he tires of your incessant affection. Poor guy learned he's smaller than you so he crams into places you can't fit! Tabitha adores having a rowdy rough-n-tumble playmate, even if she probably taught she some of your bad habits. And I can't figure out how you can still fit under that corner cabinet but can never get back out on your own! You're not feral, you're not domestic. You're you.
If I could
you & keep my face I would, so I'll settle for a virtual
. You may not be cute, little, or friendly. You don't have to be. Here you can be you - I'll love you regardless.
Then - Oct 2009:
Now - Aug 2010: (All legs & a pot belly - Gumby doesn't miss a meal!)
