Today is my brother and his wife's 40th anniversary; Friday was her 60th birthday, tomorrow is his 62nd birthday, and he's retiring this coming Friday. Do you need any more reasons to celebrate? Their 3 kids threw a surprise party for them yesterday, and it really was a surprise! There was family here from New York, Arizona, Wisconsin, and everywhere in between. Their younger daughter took on the bulk of the responsibilites and she did an amazing job. It was a wonderful party with lots of tears and laughter and hugs, and everyone had a great time.
I got to see my almost 3 y.o. niece Lainey, who I absolutely adore and meet her little brother Henry, who will be 1 y.o. on Tuesday. Lainey is fascinated by trash cans for some reason; we spent the better part of an hour looking at and counting the trash cans, giggling all the while. Then we had to go into the ladies' room and 'count the potties'.
I had such a good time, my brother and SIL were totally surprised, and their kids heaved a huge sigh of relief.
