High quality cat beds

What are your favorite sources for really good quality cat beds? We got this bed for our kitty at Petco when we adopted him a couple of months ago:

As you can probably tell, he loves it. It's nice and soft, and he can curl up in it. Unfortunately, it's also very poorly made. It's constantly letting off fuzz. Also, he's getting a little bit big for it, so we'd like something slightly bigger.

I ordered this one from Foster & Smith, but I'm returning it. It's actually smaller than the one we have now (I should have measured; it looked bigger in the pictures). The bottom isn't flat, so it doesn't sit flat on the floor. And, most importantly, the kitty doesn't like it!

My dream would be to find one exactly like the one he has now, except made out of better material and a little bit bigger. However, I don't think that's going to happen. I definitely want something that's fairly squishy/soft (both the bottom and the sides) and round. I'm not worried about price -- I'm willing to pay for quality.

Any suggestions?

This is my cats' favorite bed (below.) As you might be able to tell, it's not a cat bed! I bought it for my German Shepherd but the cats took it over. They really like it so I'm planning to buy some smaller version for them. The bed is from a company called Bessie and Barnie and they let you customize the fabrics on each side and the piping.

My suggestion: Contact the manufacturer and see if they want to buy the picture from you - This is gotta get the Cuteness Award!

We have 2 of the slumber balls from Drs. Foster & Smith that are extremely popular at our house. They have both been "restuffed" because the kitties have made them into donuts!

I'd love to get one (or more) of these as they just look so comfy for kitties. http://www.etsy.com/shop/angelcatbeds?ref=top_trail

Java's in [in my sig] one of the 2 best ones i've ever gotten. i found them online @ a place that also made little quilts. it was an online only store similar to Ragtime Collars - you could choose the size bed or quilt you wanted, the fabric, etc.
the website is no longer active.

I'd look into dog beds, I have cat beds all over the house, but the ones my kitties seem to like the most are the ones that are supposed to be dog beds

Thanks all!

cococat, we actually got one of our other cat beds at a dog show (one of these). I emailed the people who made that bed, but they don't make anything like what we're looking for. I'll see if there's a cat show coming up soon. Thanks for the idea!

Neat you are familiar with dog shows. I do suggest going back sometime and shopping. There are some great products. Too bad that person that made the old bed did not have a name for you to contact.
I have heard good things about Orvis before.

And Etsy.com specializes in unique pet beds. http://www.etsy.com/
