As some of you know, I'm currently living with my mom, my sister, BIL & their 3 kids. The kids want to be friends with Holland SO badly, and they are doing a great job of following my directions and Holland is slowly warming up to them.

I had to laugh the other day when Holland came out and Hannah said "Oh, hi pretty!". And I've also noticed that she says "Hi, precious!" "Oh, you're SO brave!" and "Hi, beautiful!" whenever she sees Holland...

Kids... they are SO good at making you realize what you sound like.
Do your kids/nieces/nephews/kids you know copycat things you say?

THat is really cute!!

Yes is true! My sister is also a huge cat lover and one of her cats is called B.K.

But he has been acting out since her daughter was born a year and a half ago. So my sister is always saying "no B.K BAD KITTY!!!" (because he has been rEALLY bad)

Now..her daughter is starting to talk and she calls poor B.K BAD KITTY!!! She will chase him around the housing saying Bad Kitty!! and if you point to him she was say BAD KITTY!!!

I avoid kids like the plague

A friend's kid parrots what her mom says all the time though.

This is how children learn. They are modeling themselves on the adults in their lives - the good, bad, ugly, funny... etc.

Glad you are teaching them to be loving AND respectful of kitty!!!

now it does! But that is better then what it did stand for which is BROKEN kitty. YOu see he is a beautiful all black kitty. He has black whiskers, black pads, black nails and even has a black spot on his tongue. And he has the most amazing gold eyes and he is super friendly. BUT my sister got him following a sad story...as a kitten he was deliberately hit by a car and the person in the car behind saw it and rescued B.K and took him to the nearest Vet. HIs tail is broken so it doesn't go up and his hip was smashed so he can't tuck it up under him. Some vet tech with a twisted sense of humor put on his cage in the spot that was his name and what he was in the vet for the Initals B.K (broken kitty). It stuck.

When her now husband adopted him (to give to my sister) the name had already stuck since that is what everyone at the vet was calling him and he was there for awhile recovering from the surgeries to repair his hip. SO despite my sis TRYING to change the name he got stuck with B.K. She usually just calls him B. I call him Beep.

Its kinda long but I just wanted to explain that odd name. Sorry for hijacking the thread!

That's a sad, sweet story with a happy ending! And I have to admit the vet tech's twisted humor is right up my alley...
I'm glad little BK found a great home, even if he is now "bad kitty"...
Holland is all black with gorgeous golden eyes, too.

I did have to laugh at the "broken" part, and since we're talking about kids... My brother and SIL called my nephew Logan their "broken kid" for quite a while. He's 4 now, but as a baby, that kid would NEVER sleep. I have never seen a child like him. As an infant, he wouldn't cry himself to sleep, he would cry until he escalated into hysterics. He would NEVER sleep more than an hour at naptime. He's pretty cute, though...
Here he is with his sister Payton:

Adorable!!
