Sisu The Evil

I have a cat named Sisu the evil. If i were a christian she would be with a priest right now having an exorcism and if the neurologist at the vet college can't help us as at that point science will have failed us, the priest will be our next stop.

Sisu the satanic, has many weird behaviors and issues like i have never encountered in a domestic cat. I will tell you about some of them and i will show some photos of the evil one. One thing my vet thinks her problem might be is that she is a hybrid or a hybrid parent on one side to say the least. Nothing i do to teach domestic cats manners is working and this cat is extremely violent. Once i took her to the vet and the vet inquired if i got mugged on the way because i looked like i had been beaten all over my face and scratched up. I said nono, I am here to see you because of all the scratches i wasn't mugged on my way here, i was mugged right before we left by... Sisu, the cat!needless to say this cat has very serious problems and i don't feel equipped to handle them anymore without some kind of guidance.

We got Sisu who was with 2 of her siblings at the time when she was 8 weeks old. She had left her mother the day before we came and got her. She now has many interactive toys regular feedings of wet and dry food and the special cat milk they make here specifically for cats. She also gets water frequently and occasional treats. She terrorizes the dog regularly and me and my husband and anyone else who sets foot in our home. She has 4 scratching posts.... The floor is littered with her toys of all kinds.

She has this sick fascination with water. if we even try to drink in our living room we must shut her in the bedroom which only works so well since she is also fairly smart and just opens the door and lets herself out. The result has been the murderous drowning death of already more than 1 laptop computer in the last year. She pees in our bed semi regularly with some frequency..... Ummm at 8 weeks old she was hunting her toys from above, She licks us alot more than any other domestic cat i have ever had, and bleeding paper cuts send her into a frenzy like nothing i have seen before. She loves to be very high up, so we got her a scratching post that connects from the floor to the ceiling she loves it.... And then she drops down like some kind of ninja from above ontop of the poor dog when he isn't expecting it. She chews on my arm and growls and treats it like it is food or meat to be eaten. She draws blood frequently and bites more and harder than any other cat i have ever met. Then there is also the teeth my vet keeps commenting ont hat are too large for usual housecat.....She has her nice friendly peaceful moments too then she is very friendly, but usually she wants to dominate and has very serious issues with authority again like nothing i have ever encountered before.

I have had cats for 30 years, i have never seen anything like this. Here are some photos of her can you all give me any thoughts on what her genetic lineage breedwise might be and perhaps advise on how to handle her if you do think she is infact one of those hybrid things my vet thinks she may be?

Oh no doesn't seem like i can post pictures how do i post pictures????

I'm sorry to hear this. This and the terrorizing and especially the urination are as you know big problems. I don't understand what you mean by paper cuts. Did the vet take any samples from her for analysis? Did the vet recommend any aids/adjunct products such as Feliway diffuser (a pheromone product to calm her) or Panic Mouse? (a mechanical toy to tire her out)

Panic Mouse picture:

You might try spraying the black part with catnip

The vet... Has reccommended the neurologist and behaviorist at the veterinary college here in Wien. I have set up appointments.

Beyond that.... She doesn't seem to know what to do about this. She thinks they will be able to advise us what tests to run. She has established now over the last month 3 times that the cat is physically healthy. Beyond that not much she can do because any other tests get costly and she doesn't really do such tests. So she is sending us to someone who does.

Does she look like a hybrid??? Our vet says she may be one. I only learned hybrids existed and exactly what they are when the vet first started saying she might be one.

Its possible she is a hybred. But sometimes ferel cats just are more "wild" even if we bring them in. She is a very striking brown mackerel tabby - her looks fool you cause you would not expect her to act like a wild cat.

She has never been a ferel cat. And typically, ferels are very shy if anything though it is true some have such a rough go of it they wind up fairly violent when they can't avoid.

What kind of hybrid do you think she might be if she is one? Which one should i be studying just in case?

Yes she is a beautiful girl.... And wild is the wrong word for her. More like.... psycho or perhaps ferocious....

I found this page on hybrids on Wikipedia. I see some names on this list I'm familiar with (e.g. Bengal) and some that are totally new to me (e.g. Ussuri, Bristol, Ashera). I've heard people say Bengals like water.

I hesitate to name hybred, especially Bengal as I don't think she has that in the background (but the one picture of a slick/shiny coat does resemble the coat of a Bengal).

From your post it sounded like a feral or outside cat (mom). I know with barn cats - some can be sweet as honey and others can be more "ferel" or "wild/aggressive".

We have a barn cat and she was brought in at 5 weeks old and kept in from that point on. She's weird in many ways - not aggressive, but she demands to be picked up, then demands to be let go less then a minute later. You can't pet or or touch her without her meowing. And the weirdest thing is she has NEVER purred in her life! She's 5 yrs old now - we had her since she was born.

I feel for you, especially since she is peeing in your bed and you cannot find a medical cause.
Have you tried putting a plastic tarp on your bed when you are not sleeping it in to protect your bed? Have you washed it with enzyme cleaner made for cat urine? Keep us updated on your visit with the neurologist.
She is a very pretty cat. She looks so innocent and adorable in her photos, especially the baby kitten photos.
How old is she? Maybe she will calm down with the endless kitten energy when she gets a bit older?
Does she chase a laser light? I am hoping that would make for more interactive play and wear her out some?

Yeh the peeing in the bed thing is really disgusting. yes we clean it with some special stuff we found at the pet store to get rid of the enzyme and then i also douse everything in vodka and wash the sheets 3 times.... Once in the enzyme killing stuff, and once in just plain old half a large bottle of vodka and then again with detergent and a half a bottle of vodka. I did put plastic over the bed.... She just scratches through it or knocks it off... Eseentially she shreds it and then pees.... In the spot that she has prepared for herself. If she was not a cat i would swear that this is deliberately done to torture me and my husband.

She is a total cutey. Unfortunately..... Looks can be deceiving.... I mean remember Bush Jr, I heard all the time that everyone thought he was such a good looking man.... But look what he turned out to be.... Sometimes fools have nice wrapping paper. Sometimes insane cats look adorable.

Sisu, is just a little over a year now. Some of those photos were taken when she was 8 weeks old. Others come from right after we had her spayed when she was 6 months old.

She chases everything. Including the poor dog. And a few fruit flies i managed to get in the kitchen... She chases the laser pointer too. For a while, then she gets bored and soon after even though i am still trying to get her to play she is more interested in trying to take my eyes out of my face again....

You have had her checked for UTI right? (I don't want to re-read everything).

Maybe try confining her to one room in the house with the litter pan and let her stay in there for a few weeks (supervise when at home and watch her) and maybe she will get the idea of going in the pan.

Maybe try 2-3 different sizes or types of pans.

Yes, have had her blood tested for literally everything 3 times iun the last month UTI included. She is competely healthy physically (aside from perhaps her brain.)
Wow, she has very beautiful pattern! I agree with GK about the one pic that her coat reminds me of a Bengal, but can't say for sure if there is any in her background.
My friend had a regular domestic cat which she took when the cat was 8 weeks old (even though I told her to wait 'til the kitten is atleast 12 weeks old), the cat became very aggressive and violent. Vets didn't find anything wrong with him, but he got so bad that they had to put him down when he was around 3 years old. They didn't get a necropsy done but my guesses would have been epilepsia or perhaps even a brain tumor. The cat was really 'crazy' and attacked several people very badly. His name was Lucifer.. I hope you'll find out what's wrong.

For the peeing problem: You could try to start feeding her in your bed and other places she's not allowed to pee. Leave some dryfood on the bed when you're not around. Cats rarely pee near their food.

Oh, forgot to ask where did you get that name Sisu for your girl? Did you know that in finnish it means to have guts/balls/ be very vigorous. Seems to suit her well.

terve,

yes seems you guessed where i got her name from. I am quite familiar with Finnish words, Finland, it's booze, culture, social system,Sauna, and people. I even play the Kantele. How many americans do you know who can play that?! I am also highly familiar with the good old Kalevala. Too bad not everyone is. If anyone is looking for an incredible read i would suggest The Kalevala.

I am married to a finn, we will be visiting my inlaws in varkaus in september actually. Husband got his PHD from Helsinki University a few years back and now we find ourselves in austria. Post docs... blergh....

But Sisu as a name for the evil one was his suggestion when we saw how she was fearless and so brave and full of moxie and a bit of stupidity.

I am also familiar with why it is they claim Finns have Sisu and the history of the word and when it really came into use.

One does not have to be a suomi to be suomiland patriot. Mina rakastan Finland!

So what is your excuse for knowing finnish words?

Oooh... Seems you are a finn. Coolz.

You have a lovely country. I spend enough time there to know. You should be very proud of it.

hehe Someone actually named their cat Lucifer? That is terrible poor kitteh.... They only serve raw cheezeburgers in helvete.

Yes Sisu the evil is very beautiful. So gorgeous i could ogle her all day but looking in her general direction is enough to bring about an attempt on the life of your eyes. Perhaps she thinks she is Allah or is a muslim cat and is upset with me for not providing her a burka? I have no idea what her problem is, honestly.

I will try leaving food in my bed thanx.

Anyway, my little Sisu from helvete is not the only beautiful cat. I saw the photos of your's Now they are just gorgeous! You should be so proud of them! They are beautiful and evidently not evil. Tragically i can't say the same for Sisu... I am thinking of making Mannerheim her middle name because her attacks are always very strategically sound also....

Thanks, I do like my country, and my cats (one of them is from germany xD), and yes I'm a finn. Lol, I just complimented your current country to your other topic before I read this.

My friend named her Lucifer cat after the evil cat in Disney's Cinderella movie.. Surprisingly it turned out to be a very fitting name.

Your friend picked a great name for her cat i gotta say....

And it's good you like Finland, you won't find a nicer country anywhere in the world.

I must say that your cat is just beautiful. I love her shiny coat and markings. I can't say if she's a hybrid or not...perhaps a DNA test could tell.
Have anyone suggested a MRI or X-ray of her brain to see if she might have a brain tumour. I suspect not if this behaviour has gone on for nearly a year. Most brain tumours don't allow the host to live that long.

It's most unfortunate that her beauty beguiles her temperment. Does she attack your husband? You say that she's attacked visitors...so she's not being fussy....she'll turn on anyone.

She is a pet, but can't be enjoyed as one. It's a real shame. I'm afraid that if she was mine, I'd have to keep her caged all day to maintain my safety. I could then admire her beauty without feeling threatened, but that's not a life for a pet....cat or dog.

I'm truly sorry, for your cat too. She's missing out on alot of love and cuddling that cats typically adore.

Do keep us posted...I'd love to hear what she is genetically, or personality-wise. I'd like to know what the Vet's suggest...

Good Luck!

I made an update in the cat health section but i will put it here as well.

We took Sisu the evil, to the neurologist today. She went by 2 trains and a bus. We met with world renowned doctors at the veterinary college that specialize in behavior and neurology. They decided, to keep hold her for a few days. So we have left without her.

I feel really horrible because she was terrified of the trains and the bus and she was in a state of panic and serious stress when she arrived and first met the vets. And i just feel like such a bad mommy, leaving her there in that state all alone with a bunch of strangers.... But i know, this needs to happen. They need to be alone with her see if it is just me she doesn't take to or if it is our environment or if it is her genetic lineage or her brain or whatever it could be. So i left her and i cried all the way home i just felt so cruel leaving her like that.

I don't know what they will do to her but hopefully they can find the problem. I think they will start with a urinary tract check of some sort. What they will find, is that it is fine because it IS fine. Then after that i have no idea what they will do beyond that. But they decided they wanted to keep her for the next 48 hours. I would love to know if anyone has any ideas as to what they will be doing with her if they could tell me. As i have no idea and i am so worried about her for absolutely no reason.

What worries me most though, is that she will actually be nice to them instead of being mean and vicious and that she will actually play them and they wills ay nothin wrong she is a sweety. Then she comes home to go back to her tirany. And the other thing that worries me, is that she injures someone at the vet college, that scares me big time.

Well i will let everyone know when i learn more. I expect an update tomorrow at some time and then we can pick her up before they close on friday...... I just hope she will forgive us....

You are trying to help Sisu...don't feel guilty about leaving her with the experts. Also, don't feel bad if she hurts someone...if you've told them the absolute truth about her behaviour, then they're ready for whatever comes at them.

I don't know what they will do, but I can only hope that they do x-rays, or an MRI of her brain to see if there are any abnormalities there. To me, that would be the first thing to check. It will be very interesting to see how the next 48 hrs go. Do keep us posted.

You might enjoy being at home without fear of being attacked, give yourself a rest, too.
