Need Advise! Possible Infection? Thanks!!!

Hey everyone! I wish I could be here on better terms, but my kitten seems to have a problem, and I am getting really worried about him.

Over the past couple weeks I have noticed that he has been scratching under his right ear. It has now gotten to a point where there is a inch or two wound under the ear and he is squinting and wincing his eye every once in awhile.

He really doesn't seem to be in much pain, but you can tell it is bothering him.

I am currently in between jobs and am really trying to put off a trim to the vet, but i'm afraid it might be my only option, he is family!

Have you recently flea treated this kitten with a product your bought from a store or online and not from your vets?

He has been healthy with no problems for a good two years. No treatment or medication has been given for fleas or anything else in that time.

Could then be an allergy to flea bites if you haven't treated him for fleas recently. Skin conditions are always tough and you really do need a vet to look at it and do a scraping

could easily be a minor flea/ear mites or more serious. I have my share of cats and know how it goes money wise at times. Call around petsmart/petco/reg vet offices as I have one nearby that will give out samples of meds like a human dr. I just had to have one treated for ear mites-that was a first in all my cat owning years...now need to treat the rest of them tho just to be safe really
