My friend Denise has an 11-12 year old dilute tortie named Adele who is a reformed feral. I don't think I have interacted with her before... she usually hides.
Tonight - she decided that I was ok. I went to visit her in HER cat tree... and introduced myself... first a small rub on the head, then more and more.... letting her dictate what she wanted and how much.
I ended up with a purring, kneading, drooling, kissing, love-biting fur baby!!! I even got kissed on the FACE!
Denise and another person there tonight were stunned! They said Adele doesn't usually react like this to "strangers." Well... I guess I am not a stranger anymore.
It is so special when a cat like that accepts you!!!!!!
She has quite a story- rescued by my friend in the dead of winter - and she was soooo sick and the local vet couldn't figure out why. They took her to Michigan STate and it turned out she had BB pellets in her HEAD
... the entry wounds had grown over but there was ongoing infection that wouldn't go away until they did surgery.
I wanted to snap a cell phone pic of her before I left but I forgot. I asked my friend to email me one so we shall see.
