It's been "all about the kitties," as it SHOULD be, LOL, but I also have a skin kid. She's 13 and she's kept me busy this summer with her competitive swimming. Tomorrow we travel to the State Games of Texas where she qualified to swim in 3 events and has the potential to medal in one of them and to be top 8 in all of them. Ask me if I'm excited and nervous!!!!

Anyway, I took a few photos of her today in practice. Just wanted to share:

Freestyle:

Breaststroke:

Backstroke:

She swims butterfly, too , but try as I might, I could not get a good photo of that.

Thanks for looking!

Right here! :)
Wow, I can believe that you are excited!!! Good luck!

"Skin kid" .....GREAT!

I used to say I had 2 girls....who were of course my cats. Then I had my son and told people I had 3 children, 2 of them with tails.... I had some very priceless looks from preople, thinking I was more weird than then thought I was...

Oh wow, what a talented young lady you have there, I wish her all the luck in the world. I have 3 "skin kids", harder work than furbabies

All those very early mornings and long drives to Granbury have paid off for her (and you)! Congratulations to her qualifying and best of luck in her meets!

Thanks, everyone!

I need luck, too. The meet is going to be outdoors in Waco, and the projected temp is 103!!!! No real shade around the pool. I have a neuromuscular disease and don't do well in anything over 90, so I'm seriously concerned and will likely spend the time between events in the car with the engine running and AC running.

Right now I'm cooking sauce for the pre-racing spaghetti dinner. I've also been pushing fluids in her and me to help us make it tomorrow. She's pretty wimpy about heat as well so she'll probably be in the car with me! LOL Poor dh will be the "designated event watcher" and will call us when she's up!

I'll post back tomorrow night or Friday morning with results. She's swimming the backstroke in a medley relay with 3 other girls and then will do the individual medley and then the dreaded 200 freestyle, which is her best event. I will be so glad when it's done as the suspense is killing me!

Thanks again for all the well wishes. She's smiling about them, too!

For Mom

I don't do heat or outside events (hate bugs) because of health issues.

For a successful day!
