Here's a question for you all. Our family pets have always been in/outdoor kitties who hunt. (aya is indoors as I now live in a small urban apartment with a large feral/stray pop outside, though she indoor hunts insects etc...) Two of our cats have also liked to mooch for food.
It seems like they eat their cat food from the store by their dishes yet if you give them human food or they catch something they like to drag it in and devour it on the living room rug. Or in my apartment Aya always takes her handouts and her bugs, lizards etc.. to the bedroom tatami mats to devour them, even if I put her 'treat' by her cat food in the kitchen. Our family cats seem to always try to take their human food treats (whether given or stolen) into the living room and eat it on the carpet. We desperately try to keep the outdoor prey outside, so of course they eat it on the stoop -gross!
