Back from the Vet

Wasn't sure whether to post here or Health, so mods move if need be

So today was Neko's 1st Annual Health Examination and vaccinations!!
Let me start from the beginning of our vet day. I had her crate out and she was curious so she got in all by herself. I thought that was going to be the hard part. Then she decided to lay down inside her crate for nap!! Little did she know that momma was going to close the door and lock her in. Poor baby cryed to whole way to the vet which was about a 20min drive since i didn't want to take the highway with her in the car. She made the most awful meows; meows i've never even heard her make!! Almost sounded like she was talking; the poor baby.

We finally get there; i decided to go with the Cat Hospital vs. the holistic vet. It was a beutiful clinic with framed pics of kitties everywhere!! Where everyone LOVES kitties!! Another customer heard Neko when we arrived and poked his head out to get a look of her. Said she sounded like his cat, lol!

We got into a room and i let her out. She was smelling everything as well as rubbing against me a whole bunch. She heard the techs and the dr on the other side of the door as well as other customers and thier kitties. She layed next to me and was growling!!! I've never heard Neko growl, lol.

So finally the tech came in and Neko was curious so she (Neko) talked to her alot and finally let her pet her. The tech was a very sweet woman who raved about Neko's beauty. We felt right at home Then we weighed her... drumroll please...... 12.24 lbs!!!! We thought she was going to be heavier. The tech mentioned her being slightly slightly heavier and the vet agreed that she could lose 1 lb or remain where she's at. Just not to gain any more.
So we are going to cut her dry from 1/3c to 1/4c and continue her 3oz wet in the evening.

Neko took her shots without even flinching!! They said she was very brave. We also purchased a Revolution 6-pack with 1 free tube, so 7 total.

She cried less on the way back home Overall, a great visit to the vet! Taking a fecal sample to the vet tomorrow for a parasite check and then we'll be done!!

Thanks for reading

That's good to have an uneventful vet visit.

My cat, Farley V was a complete terror. The doctor would have to wrap him in a towel to vaccinate him. And once the needle came out bent!

I hope all your visits are nice and calm!

Ouch your poor baby!! I was under the impression that Neko was going to be aggressive or super scared at the vet!

She was!! So proud of her She received the shots at around 3:00pm and she was ready to play that evening. I remember when she got her kitten shots she was so sleepy and couldn't keep her balance on the couch I guess the 12lbs helped absorb it

Oh, so good to have a boring vet visit! My litle girl loves sleeping in the carrier, until it's the day we actually have to go someplace in it. Then it's a heck of time to get her in it - she won't even fall for going inside to get some chicken or turkey.

And she cries her heart out in the car - it's no more than five minutes total, and I'm usually ready to cry by time we get there. She's so scared too...last time she was panting while we were waiting for the vet to come in. So, I'm so glad for you that your trip went uneventfully - I think these visits are almost harder on us than our kitties.
