Two days ago my pregnant cat passed what appeared to be a red-pink blob, no bigger than the size of a quarter. she started meowing & we were trying to isolate her into a quiet room. nothing has happened since then. she doesnt appear distressed and she wont let me touch her stomach.

She's probably 7+ weeks on. I'm worried about her & her kittens. I read that she might've passed a mucus plug, but now i'm so worried that her kittens are not okay.

please help!

Get her to a vet. A hand's on exam will determine if something is wrong.

she seemed to have passed more mucus not more than 15 minutes ago, and has started breathing a bit heavier & is very, very anxious along with frequent licking. I think she may be in labor, but I'll post updates.

She's well and truly in labour!

The blob was the mucus plug coming away - same as happens when humans give birth (also known, at least in the UK, as "a show").

There'll be kittens tonight.

If you are in the least doubt that something might be wrong, then please don't hesitate to contact your vet.

We'll be waiting for news...

her activity stopped, and STILL no kittens. I feel so terrible. she started to seem what looked like labor much later that night, meowing and laying down so we stayed up with her. but still nothing. we tried contacting an emergency cat clinic but they were unwilling to accept payment plans because we dont get paid until this thursday. She is still eating/drinking but no kittens. is there anything else we can do for her? I'm afraid she's lost the kittens and do not know what else to do!

Would the vet's office even talk to you about what is happening with her? It seems to me that she is in trouble of some kind and needs some help. Her situation could be very serious unless you can get the vet to help her birth these kittens.

Please post who the vet was and where they are located so no one else here makes the mistake of using them. I can't believe they wouldn't even answer questions without payment!

Anyway, I hope your cat is well!

Seven weeks is only 49 days. Gestation is, I believe 63 days.

I'm no expert on pregnant cats but I do know that this cat is no where near ready to give birth if she has been pregnant for only 7 weeks.

Please, take her to the vet.

Did you ever see any contractions? And does she seem at all to be in pain now? If she seems at all in pain or at all ill, she wil NEED a vet- it may not only be the kittens life, but her life at risk too. If she is only seven weeks, the kittens are not ready to come out, and probably wouldn't survive until between the eighth and ninth week. What worries me is that she passed something that seemed like her plug. Try feeling her sides to see if you can feel the kittens moving. Usually around seven weeks is when you start feeling them. If you can feel them, you know that the kittens are alive, and that's a start to knowing things are alright. But, keep looking for a vet that will help before Thursday ( I don't understand why they wouldn't before
).
I hope everything goes well!

If she is only 7 or 8 weeks pregnant get her to the vet NOW. Sounds to me like she's aborting the litter and she could need a c-section. This is not something you wait and see if things are ok!

The mucus plug doesn't look like that - may be a partial birth or a placenta but its not a good sign.

our cat went into labor but there were complications and we took her to the vet. she only had one kitten, but unfortunately was already dead. and apparently she had a birth defect & her pelvis was too small to give birth. It's just so sad... the little guy never had a chance..

thank you for all your advice. -_-

Thanks for the update, I've been worrying a lot about her. I'm glad she's going to be okay.

Your vet will be able to tell you when she will be strong enough to be spayed. She can go into heat again at any time so please be sure to keep her inside until she is spayed.

I hope she was spayed while in the vet's care. You don't want her going through that again. I'm sorry for the loss of the kitten.

Such a terrible thing to happen but at least she never has to go through that again. Sometimes you end up with a special kitty like yours without realizing anything is ever different about them. I think special cats are drawn to special people, people that they can tell are going to look after them and take care of them the way they need. I'm sorry you've had to go through this, but now you've had the chance to make things so much better.

I'm so sorry - I hope kitty has a very quick return to health, and she is blessed to have found a home with you.
