Well, when no one showed up for dinner again this afternoon, I went out with my camera to record just what's going on out in the backyard.

First I found Felix, dignified as always:

"I know I've been on a diet and should be STARVING, but I'm happy to just lie here in the dirt. Catcha later!"

Brillo, who had been inside earlier, then needed to tell me a few things:

"Let me tell you why I like it here, Mama."

"I can look all around and find stuff!"

"And if I'm really lucky, I'll look up and see a bird or squirrel! I'd LOVE to grab a squirrel!"

I still wanted to find my "little guy" Ziggy. I looked where he usually hangs out, but came up with nothing:

Then I heard a low pitched meow. ZIGGY BOY!:

He came up to me and chatted and rubbed on me and then laid down again.

"I'll think I'll catch a few more zzzzz's, save dindin for me, will ya?"

Dinner's in the fridge....

Beautiful pictures and beautiful cats! I love it. I wish I could let my babies out here, but after 1 bad experience, we decided not to. My kitties in NJ used to LOVE hunting around outside, and hanging out with skunks, possums, and raccoons

Thanks,

Ziggy is my "heart cat."
I got him as a 6 month old kitten for my 45th birthday. He is very intuitive and knows when I am sick or down and will come to me and purr. He's actually a HUGE cat even though I call him my "little guy" or "baby boy." I love winter nights when he sleeps on top of me...it's totally comforting. My other 2 cats are great, too, but there's always been something special about my Ziggy.

Thanks for the nice comments, everyone!

He is an American Wirehair. He and Brillo are full brother and sister, but born 10 mos apart (he's younger.) Yes, his eyes are special. I call them "sultry eyes."

Here are a couple of more:

Lucky for me, he was born with a kink tail, so could not be used for show or breeding. Brillo came to me last year at age 3, retired from the showring and after having 2 litters (1 kitten each time). She is a former grand champion, not that it matters a bit to me!

You have 3 gorgeous kitties! I love your garden
, I am a gardener/landscaper myself. It looks like kitty paradise and your flowers look so healthy and happy as well!

I have to say that Ziggy also stole my
and is just a striking kitty with so much character! I am an artist and with your permission would love to do a sketch of him, possibly even a painting. It would not be reproduced or sold in any way. It would only be shared with you and TCS with your permission......

Cheylink,

Of course you may sketch Ziggy. I'd LOVE that!
I am so happy that others appreciate Ziggy's unique look as most everyone laughs and says he is UGLY or weird looking when they meet him.

Brillo is a sweet little girl. She's on my lap as I type. However, she has a bad habit of walking through the house and being the "town crier" at night. I've had her a year now and it's never improved. LOL She also likes to boss all the other pets around, even though she is by far the smallest. We call her the "little tyrant!"

Oh Felix, what a dear boy he is. He was a former feral and has finally accepted the confines of the fence after trying valiantly to break through the cat proofing for a couple of weeks when we installed it 3 years ago and then trying door diving for a couple of YEARS! He is the most cuddly kitty ever, but only for immediate family.

Thanks for all the nice comments!
