Well, I got some electrical tape and spliced the broken wire! I tested it and it works great!!!!!!

LOL I also spliced a speaker wire for our DVD Surround Sound. RUSTY was the culprit this time. DH caught her in the act and she completely severed the wire. I was very careful and made sure that I connected the correct wires. I am glad that there was a white line on one wire so I could splice them correctly. It works correctly too!

Excellent!

For what it's worth, a speaker doesn't carry enough voltage to cause any flashes or bangs if it's hooked up backwards. Sound quality might suffer a little.

Now...don't you feel like a true pioneer? Do you have the same feeling Sally Field did after the first jump with the Bandit in his Firebird? "I want to jump something else! Anything else! A river! A house! Something!"

Just a word, by the way, on electrical tape.

You can go to Wal-Mart or some hardware store and buy electrical tape that you can buy 5 rolls for $2 or so.

Don't.

Good electrical tape is worth the money. It is thinner, more flexible, and its adhesive is waterproof. If you paid less than $3 for a roll of tape, it's not good enough to use outside, and it will eventually bleed adhesive inside.

Fortunately, you're using the tape in a situation that doesn't demand the best.

I buy the stuff that's about $5 for a roll. I can use it on wires on a tractor/trailer, and it will last the life of the vehicle.

LOL I bought mine at the dollar store. It is supposed to be auto electrical tape but I thought I could use it for this since it isnt a powerful current. I can't afford the more expensive stuff since my pay was cut.
