I wasnt sure where to post this exactily so if its in the wrong place I apolagize.

So my brother has 2 cats a 2yr old Tuxido spayed female and a 15yr old orange tabby neutered male and we (I live here too) have been having a bad issue with Fleas for about a month now!
My brother says they have never had fleas before and we cant seem to get rid of them. There not on the cats as much as they are around the house (biting us) but im sure it doesnt help the cats any.

I was wondering if you could help as far as getting rid of the fleas??

My brother is a "green" person so he tries to only use all natural stuff... so far we've tried Natural Defence Flea Collars, Spray, and that stuff you put on there shoulders. We've used 2 Bio Spot Room Foggers (I know not natural, that was our most recent attempt), We've steamed cleaned the carpets with Alcohol and Vinigar, and even tried Diconamous Earth 'DE'... my Sister-in-Law even sits down for 2 hrs combing fleas off each cat every night!
We dont know what to do anymore... rehoming the cats is NOT an option either.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Are you saying you've tried Advantage or Frontline? Not natural, I guess, but the fleas are...so, take your choice!

You need to treat all the surfaces in the house as well as the cats or else you'll continue the cycle. Unfortunately, I'm not sure that anything "green" will take care of the problem. I would advise something like Revolution, Frontline, or Advantage for the kitties and a perimeter spray for the house. Don't use a bomb or anything like that because that will get on every surface in the house! Use a perimeter spray which you can find near the bug sprays in most home improvement stores or Wal-Mart. That way, you can target the areas, it dries quickly, and then the kitties can return to that area once dried.

The only "green" thing that might work is using Borax, which can be toxic to cats. Sprinkle some on the floors, carpets, chairs, and etc. DO NOT LET THE CATS ON THE AREAS OVERNIGHT! Brush the Borax into the carpets using a broom. Leave overnight, and then vacuum up in the morning. Put a flea collar in your vacuum bag to kill the fleas.

Outside, if you live in a house, you can apply beneficial nematodes to your yard to help cut down on the flea population. http://www.arbico-organics.com/categ...cial-nematodes That site also might have some organic flea products for cats, but I've never tried any of them and can't recommend anything.
