Should my cat fast to travel?

I'm traveling on a 1:50 hour duration flight + 4 hours prior departure to get everything right to avoid problems at airport.


after landing I will immediately give him dry food.


I want to avoid any bad smell at the airport and during the flight.


He's 2 years old.


How many hours before leaving to the airport I should stop giving him water and food?

BTW he pees when he's scared or nervous, he always pee in the car although I don't give him any liquids 3 hours before leaving the house

put a puppy training pad in the bottom of his carrier to absorb the nervous urine first of all. Tape it down if you have to.

You didn't give us an approx. time for your flight, so we don't know if it's a morning or afternoon flight. The goal is not to feed them for anywhere from 8 to 12 hours before the flight (or trip, or anesthesia, etc) so that their stomachs will be empty. 10 hours is best for mine, I've found.

If it's anytime after mid-day, then he needs nothing to eat that morning. Pick up his food at midnight, and everything will be fine.

If it's a morning flight, you'll need to pick up the food earlier, say 9 pm the night before.

If it's a late night/early morning flight, then I wouldn't feed him any time after 10 AM the previous day.

He will need the water, though, which is why I recommended the puppy training pad.

Thanks for the help.

I will be heading to the airport at 3:00 pm to make sure everything is ok.

So I guess I'll take the food at midnight.
