Anybody here owns one?
I am ready for my next splurge and this one is the next one - It MUST fit the Drinkwell fountain in it

I am single, live alone, but hate, hate, hate doing the dishes.... I can skip cleaning as I have a cleaning lady, but the dishes are a problem....

There are some with good reviews, others not so much, but since I know you guys, I was wondering if anyone here has one?
Thanks!

I used to have one. it was nice, but it was kind of bulky. Ours was older though. I could fit like 4 plates, 4 bowls and 4 glasses. I think a drinkwell would fit though

I didn''t even know they made countertop ones any more. It doesn't seen very practical as it can't hold much. When I was growing up we had a portable dishwasher. A bit smaller than the built in but hold many more dishes.

I had this one up until recently. I sold it because we are moving and planning to get a house and have a full size. http://www.amazon.com/Danby-Countert...6766154&sr=1-1

It worked pretty good but if there was any food left on the food trap from the load before it would go all over the dishes in the next load (hubby used to forget to clean it sometimes). My only real complaint is that it was really bulky and took up too much room on my counter.

Do you think I can fit a water fountain in it? That is essential...

I have a portable dishwasher. It is a full size. You pull it up to the sink, plug it in and attach the hose to the faucet, turn the hot water on and then the dishwasher. Works like a charm. It comes with a kit that can make it a built in if I owned my own place and wanted to have a built in one instead of using it as a portable.

I've never used a counter top dishwasher. My cousin used to have one many years ago. I've seen her use it and it seemed like it did an ok job. Not much room in them though, and they take up a huge amount of counter space.

I think ours was an edgestar. We got it used off of craigslist for $40. The reason we really got it was we had parties often and had a bunch of dishes that we didnt want to do while guests were there, but most of the cooking stuff (the pots and pans and bake stuff) wouldnt fit in it, or if it did you could fit nothing else.

Wow, I've never heard of a counter top dishwasher before!

I use a portable washing machine though. I'm on my second one. The first one lasted 11 years, it was an expensive Kenmore, it started breaking down a lot, I kid you not, ONE DAY after the 10 year warranty ended, but I nursed it along for another year and then bought the cheap little one I am using now.

Trapped in the catroom! ;o)
Id go with the portable not the counter top. Atleast with the portable its a full sized dishwasher and bonus...Added counter space because most of the portable dishwashers have that little counter toppie thinger on them. Thats the kind my mom had when we were growing up and I like it it never gave us any problems. I wish I had the space for one of those now cuz Id get one.

Let us know which one you decide on. I have just the regular under the counter one. I lives all my life until 8 years ago without one of any kind, except for hubby. I really enjoyed his help better than I do the dishwasher now. Anyway, I have never seen a counter top one, but I have seen the portable one. Can you take the drinkwell fountain with you when you shop. I am not familiar with it and that may be a bad suggestion if it is too big to take along when you shop for the dishwasher. Another thing is I think the portable might hold more dishes, but that too depends on your needs. I hope you find what you want and that you enjoy it.

The ones I have seen would not hold a drinkwell ... a 16 oz mug in most is a long shot unless you get a portable vs counter... In my experience they are much bigger and do a better job... Thou my experience is limited to other s who have had them...

I miss my dishwasher! Honestly, I would rather clean the toilet than do the dishes. I didn't even know there was such a thing as a countertop dishwasher. It wouldn't be practical for a family but it looks like it would be ideal for a single person.

We had a portable one in our first house (Grandma's old one) and it was nice at times like the holidays, but most of the times it was more problems than it was worth. There was no place near the sink to store it so it was on the other side of the room until we needed it. When I went to move it closer to use it, the cats thought it was a game and tried to attack it.
Yeah, 3 cats ganging up on the "dishwasher monster". Plus, the hose was basically made of duct tape by then, and still leaked. But, it was free so I can't complain.

Let us know which one you chose.
