I want to ask if it's safe to give my cat this tape worm medicine?

http://www.amazon.com/Tape-Worm-Feli...0442547&sr=8-3

She was a stray and after I took her in I had the vet to check for worms. I was told they didn't see worms but gave her a wormer just in case. Few days later, and I've been finding segments of tape worms on her tail. Not a lot, just one at a time but already on 3 different occasions. I don't have money to bring her to get the vet again as her surgery already drained my credit card.

Is it safe to buy this tape worm tablet and feed her?

Thanks

You should be able to just call the vet, tell them she has tapeworms and ask if you can pick up a tablet for her. Since she's on record, her weight will there and they'll likely be happy to help you.

Good luck!

I have treated MANY cats using this and also ordered it from australia -dif brand. Weigh the cat and it should be fine. I am waiting till my kittens are old enough to hit all 33 in one shot.

Hopefully you can get a broad-spectrum dewormer, like Drotnal, by calling the vet because she might have Roundworms and hookworms too.

Thanks for the replies

The thing is, I already brought her to the vet to get vaccinated and wormed. I found these white worms AFTER I came back from the vet.

I just checked the receipt from the visit and it showed that my cat was given Nemex. A Google search shows that it's for round worms and hook worms for dogs? So confusing.

Nemex is pyrantel pamoate which is for hookworm and roundworms only, it won't take care of the tapeworms. Pyrantel pamoate is used on dogs, cats, horses, humans, sheeps.... My kitty, Sushi, was given pyrantel pamoate when he was a kitten.
