Can you believe its almost Aug?

For most of us, its summer, and I am wondering:

What have you done so far to enjoy your summer? Any plans for the rest of summer before the kids go back to school?

Good question. it has been horribly hot and have not felt like doing a whole lot.

DH and I enjoy taking our boat out fishing. We were in the Erie Canal Fishing Derby...didn't win anything tho. We go out early like 6am before the sun gets too hot and back home by noon or so. It is so peaceful just floating around and casting a line.

We take in the grand kids baseball games in the evenings. Garage sale once or twice a month.

Sit on the porch and eat watermelon and have a seed spitting contest!! Such excitement!! Go to farmers markets, or just chill.

I will come alive more in the cool crisp fall days.

We really haven't done much at all.
We've had a couple of overnight camping trips, but otherwise we've just been so busy with work and fostering.

I had knee surgery.....yay.

Our vacation will be in the fall when we go to my GFs in CT to pick apples and hit all the stores there. We love Trader Joe's, the Book Barn (all three locations), Chef's Warehouse, Whole Foods, etc. We have an outstanding time being together! It's only for a 3-day weekend, but it will be good enough for me this year.

DH will be leaving in August for a union convention in Vegas; he'll be gone about a week or so. I don't fly, so I can't go with him. But I'll be fine at home, too.

No I can't believe it's almost august. Spring and early summer have been very cold so I feel like we have had almost no summer yet.

We've been on honeymoon to Rome but that was way back in april
, because we already went on vacation we've skipped our usual summer festival trips, but in four weeks we'll finally be going to the campingflight to lowlands paradise festival
It's my 11th time, I'm not skipping that one.

My main plan for this summer were to foster again, but there are almost no kittens to foster in my part of the country (friends of mine in other cities who also foster are up to their ears in kittens
).

No plans here.

I've been out of work since the middle of June. It was my choice but still not easy. Since then I've been kind of lost without a daily schedule.

The longest trip I've taken so far was only an hour away to interview with an employment agency.

I haven't done anything this summer except for work and look for a place to move. We are thinking about going camping sometime in August.

I wouldn't go anwhere anyways with this heat we've been having. Just driving to and from work is a miserable experience.

Come on Winter!

For me, this summer hasn't really been that enjoyable at all, for a number of personal reasons. One being the passing of my sister. But, I have been going to some amusement parks to ride lots of roller coasters, which is always a great time for me, since I am a huge roller coaster fanatic.

This summer has been so hot and humid that there isn't much you can do outdoors so I have stayed in the a/c. Today is the same yet again, hot and humid but I am meeting Russ for a late lunch and then on to his place.

I can hardly wait for the Fall to arrive, that's one of my favorite seasons and you can enjoy the outdoors much more.

I went to the beach a lot, ordered a new car, went to an awesome pole workshop with a pole idol of mine, and am going to Colorado next month

I'm gonna hate when school is back in session .... means LOTS of traffic and a long commute
