After a harrowing day at the vet I get the info that my kitty is a diabetic. (still awaiting a few more test results though) So yet another food change and more $( he has had crystals and uti's) sigh love my baby but he is now the most expensive cat I have ever owned. But at least I can manage his condition. I still find it odd that the least overwight cat in my household got it, Not saying there seriously overweight there on a diet allready
.

Well at least he fits in the family, I'm insulin resistant allready, and all members of my dads side have diabetes. So heres hopeing he does not also have a thiroid problem too and starts takeing after my mom.

What were his signs that had you bringing him in to the vet? Just wondering. I have a cat that has had problems vomiting. I think I have that under control by giving him 1/2 a can of wet food a day. But am monitoring his water in take now too.

Try not to get the syringes mixed up!!

I have a diabetic, my second. You are preaching to the choir about expenses. I don't know where it will all end.

My cat, Goofy has it. I load the syringe, go into the kitty area and call him in from the outside enclosure he spends lots of time in. He runs in, jumps onto the stool where I give the shot, and lowers his head for me to have access to his scruff. He is an amazing cat.

Good luck to you and your DC. You seem to have a healthy attitude about it.

Miz, he was loseing alot of weight rapidly dispite eating a good meal. He went though attitude changes became more vocal and wanted to sit with me all the time. That was quite out of the norm for him. I just knew something was wrong with him. So in he went.

And allready I think were settleing into a pattern, I put him on my lap give him a few pets and he does not mind the 20 seconds it takes to shoot him. He puts up with it then goes back to being the king of the house.

Ah were all fine and good here, the boys are takeing to their new diet change and overall are happy with it. Woden seems to be very good about getting his shots even yelling at me if I am a few min late for our shot time.
(10 am and 10 pm exactly)

So were doing good. Except for my workplace did not pay me this week. So the rent is late due to that going to pay the vet bills. Ah, oh well such is life the check will come and things will go on.
