Best wet/canned food?

My vet has told me I need to stick with wet food for my 13 year old cat for now. She has a tumor in her mouth and an infection and it has been very difficult for her to eat dry food right now.

So my question is can anyone recommend a good brand/variety? Any opinions?

She isn't picky at all lol but I would like to give her the best I can even more so right now when she isn't well and needs some more weight on her bones.

The vet also said to just give her as much as she wants since she has lost alot of weight. I know I should break it up through out the day but how much to give at a time? A whole can? Half or 1/4?

Thanks

When I have to fed canned to the farm cats I feed the 95% canned food (EVO, Instinct, and By Nature are the three that come to mind). I normally feed a raw diet but they get those when I am gone.

Personally though I'd say at least stick with grain free canned - there are a LOT of options then.

What did the vet tell you?... What other medical issues does she have?

Since she has lost alot of weight I may lean toward a low to no grain in adult or kitten formula...

Where do you shop?

What weight should she be?

If where you buy your cat's food sells EVO, I would suggest that. No grain, plus it may help your cat gain weight. Also, ask your vet about adding an omega 3 supplement to boost her immune system. You could also feed a kitten formula as it would have a higher protein count. Contrary to popular belief, senior cats need more protein, not less.

Is the infection a form of stomatitis?

Avoderm is a solid wet food some contain a fair amount of grain others are grain free...

Evo is a Natura product and not sold in the "big" pet stores
