Cat right, dog wrong once again.

Both right today!

Problem with their "right answer" is it's not the only right answer. Cats puff their tails for other reasons besides fear.

Mazy puffs her tail and dances sideways to invite me to play with her, for example.

I agree, but since the other 3 are definitely wrong......Maia is a tail puffing freak when she gets excited!

Yes, count me in as another whose cat (Basia) puffs her tail for reasons other that fear. She gets bushy during a vigorous brushing or rubdown.
