Lucy's female kitten

As most of you know, my foster cat Lucy gave birth first thing last Friday morning. One was stillborn, she had 4 others, but there was a little grey female who was chilled and away from the rest. She was alive and yesterday looked to be doing well.

I checked on them this morning and knew she wasn't going to make it. She was doing the "death cry". Obviously Lucy knew from the beginning that something was wrong with this one. Dana and I went out for a couple of hours and came home to find her gone. I know it's nature's way...but it is still so hard. I will NEVER get used to this part of fostering. Rest in peace little one... You were greatly loved in the short time you were here.

Oh I am so sorry. Mom obviously knew things were not right....still it is so hard.

God take care of the sweet baby. Like you, I don't think I would ever get used to this. I wouldn't want to.

Take care and love on the remaining babies in her honor.

I'm so sorry. I don't think I'd ever get used to it either.
At least she had the chance to be born into a warm, loving home.

I can't imagine you get used to it.
