Is it okay to give my dog a cat food?

Anyway, Charlie sometimes has left over, and my dog wants to eat it, is that okay?

No... If it is an odd snack of it your okay... but cat food is normally higher in fat and protein and overall calories ... the macro and micro nutrients are different also ...

It's better than the reverse, but I agree that cat food often has much more protein and fat than dog food. Feeding your dog commercial cat food on a regular basis could cause weight gain and possibly other problems.

Cat food gives my dog really bad gas because it is so rich, he basically tattles on himself when he's been snitching it.

are you talking about wet food? I used to let my pup eat whatever was left over after my cats' feeding frenzy- mind you, there was not a whole lot left

My 3 dogs always lick up the crumbs from my nightly cat feeding frenzy. It's actually a great way to gain control of dogs. I make them lay down and stay while the cats eat sometimes 2 feet away. They are not allowed to lick the bowls clean until I give them a release command. This also helps to teach the dogs to respect the cats more by not assuming they can barge into whatever they are doing. I have a video of this if you are curious.
