She's going to be such a happy girl. She's been making me cringe when she rubs up against my legs and those stitches drag across my skin or jeans.

I'll let you all know how that goes after her apt tomorrow, but can anyone think of any concerns for after the stitches, any questions I should ask the vet? I want to make sure I've got everything covered. She's got about an inch of skin on either end of her scar where the hair doesn't want to grow back. Anything I should be worried about, you think?

She went out to the porch with me today while I watered the flowers. I was keeping a really close eye on her, but she never left the porch. She was ready to go back inside after less than 5 minutes. Yep, I think I've got an inside kitty for a little longer.

Thank you all for all the comments, support and vibes Ginger and I have gotten throughout all of this.

Good luck to Ginger!

My Zi had his stitches out of his tail yesterday and the vet said everything looks great and should be fine from here on in. Ginger should also be fine, but the vet will have a look and make sure everything looks ok.

You were right on the mark, Kaillie.

Ginger's stitches are now out, and the vet says she can even wear a collar now, although I think I'm going to wait for a bit.

He did say, though, that her velcro kitty status may be permanent. He seems like a really knowledgeable guy (looks to be in his forties), so I'm fairly confident in his assessment. He says that some cats can have behavior changes after trauma, and that her reaction is pretty common. It could go away next month, it could get worse, or it could just be that I have a whole new Ginger for the rest of her life. She still isn't so certain about going outside.

I'm taking everyone in for Rabies vacs next month. This is going to be fun... All 4 on the same day! Prissy will be a month overdue, and Smudge is going to be 2 months early, but I want to get everyone before I move and the vet said that would be fine.

Congrats on Zi's stitch removal! I'm glad everything's going well.
