Do any of you have a scale for weighing your cats? We'd like to be able to monitor our cat's weight without having to take him in to the vet. We can weigh him on our bathroom scale, but it doesn't offer very much precision, and I'm not totally convinced of its accuracy. Foster & Smith has a scale, but it's $80 and only goes up to 10 pounds. I'm curious to watch his weight, but $80 is probably a little more than I'd like to spend just for curiosity. Maybe if the scale was really great, but with a limit of 10 pounds, I don't think so.

I'm wondering if anyone knows of a reasonably priced, accurate scale that works well for weighing cats.

I have a digital scale seems fine. I get on with cat then without. I have taken few to vet and get very close readings on their baby scale. It was a 25 dollar scale from kmart or walmart.

I have a friend who has a very placid kitty who enjoys car rides - once a week, they head over to the post office after business hours and use the scale there. She has figured out times when there are very few customers

LOL, the Post Office! That's pretty funny. Our vet is actually closer than the PO, and I'm pretty sure they'd let us just come in and weigh if we wanted (they're really great), but I figured an at home solution would be nice.

We do have a digital scale and do the with/without weight thing. I just thought a dedicated scale with a little more precision might be nice. It's looking like it's probably not worth the trouble, though.

Edited to add, here's a gratuitous pair of pictures of our growing kitty

Check out "digital baby scales" on Amazon or e-bay. There are several reasonably priced for $50.00 (and less).

For weighing newborns, babies, cats, puppies, or even small parcels....

Aha! Thank you! Hilarious that a "pet scale" is way more expensive than a "baby scale" even though they're basically the same thing. Of course, if I order that, Amazon will be recommending me other baby stuff for the next three years

I was lucky enough to find a baby scale at a garage sale for five dollars! They said they had no more use for it but I had a use in mind!
