Hello

Ever since March, my cats will not stop sneezing, they go days with sneezing, then stop... for days... You think thats strange? I sneeze also... I suffer from hay-fever and its only days that Pollen levels are high... same with my cats, all 3 of them sneeze alot when this is high, however our kitten sneezes when the levels are low-medium.

They all seem to have the same symptoms as I have...

When first started - this year - taken cats to vets they said nothing is wrong with them, however the pollen levels then was quite low.

Levels now are low, so no sneezing... its a pattern that I am sure has something to do with hay-fever but what can I do? I know how horrible it is...

My cat Floss possibly has hayfever but her symptoms were her 3rd eyelid showing alot of the time and some sneezing. I took her to the vets and he diagnosed possible allergy, maybe hayfever? I don't know if there is a hayfever test for cats, if there is my vet didn't do it and I don't think there is any treatment-well I wasn't offered any for Floss. She is alot better now but odd days when the pollen is high her symptoms show and as a sufferer myself I know how awful it is. It maybe worth a check up with your vet just to make sure its nothing else as it it is a bit unusual that all 3 of your cats are suffering although not that unusual. I would definetely get them checked though and just make sure it's nothing else. x

Cats can suffer from airborne allergens, just like humans. Mine get itchy ears, itchy and watery eyes, and one starts sneezing. We give them an antihistamine when they get really severe.

We use over the counter Claritin (Loratadine). I get the generic from Wal-Mart, actually. It's a 10mg tab, so I give 1/4 - 1/2 tab daily. It really helps my girl that has herpes and is prone to upper respiratory infections. Talk to your vet about it.

I have noticed this year that all but two of my cats are sneezing a lot since the summer months. During the winter they did not sneeze at all. I'm just thinking it's allergies because we use the central air now and the ducts are probably a little dusty. I'm assuming it's from that. I so love it when one of them sneezes in my face lol

I have one that sneezes a bit when the hay field makes pollen and Da Magpie is bothered by dust. Add to that my sneezes and a horse that has allergies, and it is quite the snot fest around here. The horse can be medicated and so can I, but one of the sneezing cats is pretty wild and for Da Magpie, it is a matter of catching her before she gets to that super high cupboard that I cannot clean the middle of with ANYTHING because A) it is too high and I don't do ladders; B) there is a bunch of heavy stuff that I can't reach to move.
