Last night Dana and I were cuddled up watching some tv before bed when I heard what I thought to be thunder. I asked Dana if he heard it, and he just looked at me, laughed and said "Hun, that's not thunder, that's the foster boys running around upstairs like a herd of elephants!"
Apparently he had brought up a bunch of new toys for the 5 foster boys and they were having a GREAT time trying them out.

Aw, that's just too cute!
I know that when the kittens were small (we had five of them), they sounded like a herd of elephants running back and forth in the hallway.

Well these boys are approx. 5 months old, so they're kind of in the teenager stage and FULL of energy and trouble.
I'm constantly laughing at their antics.

Back in our apartment days, MommyCat and I had a couple with two young cats living above us. At various times of the day, we could hear "thump-thump-thump-thump-thump" going back and forth around their floor. Our cats would look up at the ceiling and sometimes join in running laps around our place!

I love how kitties can be all sweet an innocent one minute and then carousing around like a herd of elephants the next
!

I remember, when I was living in my apartment and fostering for the local animal shelter, I remember once getting a letter from the apartment manager stating that I needed to come in to the office to discuss noise. I couldn't imagine what the issue was as I was always very considerate of my downstairs neighbors. But, when I went in to meet with the apartment manager, she stated that my neighbor directly below me had made a comment that, at times, she didn't know what I was doing upstairs since it would sound as though someone were dancing or stomping around. She knew I was respectful and was just concerned something was going on. And, for a while, I couldn't figure it out. So, we formulated a plan. When my downstairs neighbor heard the loud noise, she called me up and I figured it out -- I had been sitting at the time on the sofa, a far cry from stomping or flailing about! But, when I looked into the dining room, I realized that my 2 foster kittens (about 4 months old at the time) were zooming around. My neighbor and I laughed about it and when we told the apartment manager about what the commotion was, she had a chuckle as well! I wound up laying down carpet and that helped with future noise caused by the kittens, but it wasn't needed -- my downstairs neighbor decided to adopt one of the babies and the apartment manager the other! I guess I was just lucky that the apartment manager and my neighbor weren't angry about the noise and were just concerned. And, I suppose kindness and willingness (and cute kittens!) go a long way in helping get yourself out of potential sticky situations!

Hopefully, your little thunderbirds will behave themselves tonight. But, even if they don't, the noise is too sweet to get upset over. I love frisky kittens!

You know what hun?? I LOVE the sound! Why? Because it means they are feeling much better from their URIs and they're ALIVE and have the oppertunity to play, an oppertunity they wouldn't have had where they would have been put down if they didn't go into foster care by the end of the day we took them in.
They can be as loud as they want. Doesn't bother me a BIT.

We always think of felines being stealthy, but I have to dismiss that idea whenever Lucy comes thudding through the kitchen.
