Lucy is the newest member of our foster family. She was brought into the shelter as a stray, but is obviously no stray. Her coat is beautiful, she uses the litterbox impeccably and is an all around doll. She has 1 eye and a facial deformity the vet believes is a birth defect. As you can see she is very pregnant, and we are now on kitten watch and wondering if any of her kittens may have deformities as well. Isn't she the most precious thing?!?

Pria is a pure sweetheart. I adore her and have to constantly tell myself that I have enough of my own already.
She is currently in our bedroom with us and cuddles up and sleeps with us every night. She is so sweet and mild mannered, a REAL doll!

Ooh, they both have really neat coloring!!
Lucy looks so soft, and Pria even looks like she's a cuddler! Good luck with them and the kittens when they come!!

What pretty girls!

Pria has such pretty colouring and Lucy looks so fluffy and lovable...I'm lucky I'm nowhere near you or I'd probably come and get her

Did she lose the one eye or is that part of the birth defect?

There's really no way of knowing where she was surrendered to the shelter as a stray, but the vet seems to think it's all due to a birth defect. It hasn't affected her in ANY way. She's full of character! She's a fly killing MACHINE even though she's so huge with her kittens.
She's also very affectionate and playful. It seems to be a little more work for her to pick up her hard food with her mouth, but she manages.
She's a prime example that a deformity doesn't mean a death sentance.

Oh, what a beautiful, special kitty Lucy is. I hope her kittens arrive without a hitch and are healthy, but even if they do have some deformities, their mom is a perfect example as to why cats who are special needs or different are just as loving (and should be just as adoptable) as any other kitty.

And, Pria. She's just a doll. I have loved her from the start -- she is just too cute and you can see it in her eyes and demeanor how much of a cuddle-bug she really is. Now, if you asked me, I think the Excellent Eight could easily be made into the Nifty Nine. In fact, the Nifty Nine has a nice ring to it, don't you think, Kailie?

I'm really serious. Pria would make an excellent addition to your resident kitties. She's a special little girl and is just as gorgeous as can be. And, since you have the space (since you have separate spaces for your fosters), it could work. Of course, I think we'd all understand if you couldn't do it, but I wouldn't be the one to discourage you if you were really serious in adopting her.

Please keep us updated -- both on Pria and sweet Lucy (her kittens too).

Dana is keeping me in check and says no more kitties.
I'm sure if I pressed hard enough he'd cave, but I have to keep harmony in our relationship.

So true. All it means is they've figured out slightly different ways of doing some things.

She looks like an absolute sweetheart. The fly killing makes me laugh because Freya's also very good at it and I always think "you have no depth perception how in the heck can you hit something that small?!"

Just sweet, sweet girls. I hope they find furever homes with people who love them as much as you obviously do.

I thought you all would be interested in knowing that as of this morning, Lucy has kittens.
1 little orange one was stillborn
but we currently have 3 live kittens, 2 grey and 1 orange. 1 of the little grey ones was away from Lucy and the other kittens and was quite chilled, so I'm not sure if it will make it, so please send vibes! Lucy is being a GREAT Mom, is very loving and attentive.
