My cats have a lot to look at outside, like birds, squirrels, and lizards, but their favorite subject to scope out are the wild iguanas in the yard. They prop themselves in the window and patiently wait for one to move around. They make weird noises, and whip their tails.

This one is the largest one yet, about 3' long.

There is quite a variety out there in sizes and species.

This one isn't dead, but in hibernation due to the cold weather.

I think my city cats would have tiny little kitty heart attacks if they saw those!

Ohmigosh! How cool! I love iguanas. I remember my first sight of one, the first time I went down to Mexico. They sort of beg you to stare at them. Excellent pics!

I love iguanas! One of my girlfriends has a huge and gorgeous iguana. She even had her spayed because she was using so much calcium when she laid her eggs. She got her as a tiny little thing, but that girl now is just huge; she has to be over 5 feet now! And absolutely beautiful with her colors. When I was out to visit with my GF, she took me into the iguana's room....it's temp and humidity controlled; they take very good care of that girl. When I "met" her, she started bowing her head, which is a sign that she's not particularly happy. She's beautiful, but she has Iguana-Tude!

These are great pictures!

I cannot imagine seeing one of those in my yard! They're adorable, but would probably scare the living daylights out of me.

Oh my, how fantastic but wouldn't be any good for me, I am scared of the bees when they fly near me in the garden

Funny, just today I inherited a lovely female iguana.
Last thing I wanted was another pet, especially an iggy, but, she's healthy, brightly colored and at least a year old judging by her size.

Beautiful creatures.

Wow! What amazing animals you have wandering around in your neighbourhood. No wonder your cats are so intrigued!
I remember our family cat caught and killed an iguana in Singapore. It was a big adult one too, quite an impressive feat, poor iguana though.

That is awesome! I love iguanas. My sister used to have a pet iguana named Dino. We had a poodle then too, and for some reason the poodle liked to lick the lizard the "wrong way" on his scales. Dino would whip the dog with his tail, but that didn't stop the dog from licking him...

Dino loved to sit on my head.
He was quite a character.
