Petsmart changed ("improved") the formulas for its wet foods and it finally has made it to store shelves in quantity. And of course- the price went up. In my area - 11 cents a can!!! It is now competitively priced with Nutro (slightly less)..... I should have known. I will still keep buying it - my boys LOVE the catfish recipe.... it is now 79 cents for a 6 oz can.

The same thing with the store here.

However they had all their old cans on sale and I just got them instead...

well, the price change isn't what bugged me. it's the fact that they stopped carrying Luna's flavor for the most part. They only occasionally have the lamb in stock in the 3 oz cans and haven't had any 5.5 oz cans of lamb for months. The other flavors have fish somewhere in the ingredient list even the 'chicken' ones! Luna can't have anything with fish in it or her allergies act up. So upset. All the other acceptable brands that have something she can eat are so expensive.

I can get it to you later today. They are boasting that the food has more meat in it... first ingredient in some cases.

If you want to save money, why don't you feed them raw chicken and try to get your hands on some venison or horse or goat. Some kind of cheap, lean, red meat.

The chicken bones can provide calcium or you can make it boneless and supplement with powder.

Beef is generally not a cost effective option.

Sharky - I have the Turkey one - I think there is a tad more meat in that one, too. I will post the data later. Oh, and the catfish version, too.

I think there is too much liver in a lot of this food. Not just Authority.

Hmmm... These look really good now! Before there was defiantly more grain, I will have to give them a try. They are also in my price range
.

Any one have any idea the calories in the new wet food?

If the new info is available - it would be on PS's web site.

I think some of the foods are a tad better - the chicken and turkey for sure.

My boys adore the catfish recipe. Sure to clean their plates.

I got a Petsmart ad yesterday that said you can get a free can of Authority - it said "see store associate" to find out how. You probably have to buy a certain amount to get the free can or something. Just a head's up for anyone who uses this brand.

I think that it is if you buy a bag of Authority dry you get a can of the wet for free. I could be thinking of a differant brand but it seems to me that it is Authority...
