Yes, he's an obsessive/compulsive cat.

We got a new refrigerator a while back, one with an ice dispenser.

Now, whenever I run the ice dispenser, wherever he is, he'll come running into the kitchen full tilt, sliding sideways into the sink cabinet, watching me expectantly. Why? Because he wants a little ice cube to chase around the kitchen floor. He just LOOOOOVES them!

That's not OCD, that's you teaching him that he'll get a new toy to play with when he hears that sound. Mine associate sounds with "toys", too, including me getting into the ice.

OCD behavior, for a cat, would be more like the anxiety/stress related over grooming that leaves some cats with large bald patches.

My boys know when I open the pantry door it usually means toys!!!! Anything else in the kitchen they have learned means FOOD!! Archie can hear me open a cabinet from upstairs in the master bedroom and come flying full tilt and leaps onto the dining table... usually knocking over books, papers, boxes and other kitties in the process!!!

Oh how funny!! Hannah does that when we open a zip top bag because she thinks she's getting some cheese!

Go Flambe! I can just picture him rocketing into the cabinets in his haste to get there. Haven't seen any recent pics of him, by the way...(hint, hint)

Sophie actually does that any time I open the freezer! We don't have an ice maker, but we have a refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom (and therefore at perfect kitty level). It's rare when anyone in the house can open the freezer door without Sophie-Ann climbing all over the frozen peas to get into the ice bucket.

You should ABSOLUTELY get a video of that!
