Julianne Moore filmed a movie in my hometown. I didn't get to meet her but I know people that did. It was the biggest thing to happen to that little town. They blocked off the entire downtown and changed the signs on the town to say "Welcome to Defiance, Ohio" I think it would have been funny if someone drove there and didn't know they were filming a movie, wondering why the sign said Ohio not Ontario.

Kidding!

Seriously......

I love to sing! I am not a good singer, but I love to sing! And I would love to have the courage to get up and sing at a Karaoke Bar! But I won't ever because so many people are so judgmental.

I didn't learn to drive until I was 35. When I did finally learn, I taught myself. The first thing I did after I got my license was drive from New York State to Houston, Texas to visit my niece and nephew.

14 years later I still am amazed every time I get behind the wheel of my car.

This is a neat thread and everyone's facts are fun and amazing and interesting.

I'm trying to think of something I haven't shared here....hmmmm....give me a few minutes....
How lovely that your parents renewed their vows too - it's lovely that it means so much to you. We were planning to skip away somewhere romantic, just the two of us and renew them there but Daughter practically rioted and wasn't having any of it

So....the actual date is shortly before our actual 25th (as we are still skipping away somewhere for our anniversary). We are renewing our vows on September 4th and will be exchanging new rings which will be blessed at the ceremony. Our daughter will be the ring-bearer and will escort us down the aisle.

For those of you that saw my other thread - this one - the special little shop mentioned at the end is the shop where we bought our new wedding rings. We could have ordered them over the internet, but the shop welcomed personal callers and we wanted to be sure they were right, so we booked a night in that beautiful location and got a fabulous walk into the bargain as well. The whole experience was beautiful and the people in the shop were lovely

ETA: I'm loving this thread! Everyone's stories are great.

This really IS a great thread! I'm sorry to say that I don't have anything overly exciting to add.

Although Dana and I have been together for over 2 years, I am still legally married to my ex due to lack of time and finances to go through the divorce proceedings.

Oh and here's another fun fact - I lost one of my top front teeth as a kid and the next one never came through. For most of my school life I only had one front tooth. Wasn't I cool?

I will shortly be saying "I Do" to my hubby for the second time - we are reaffirming our vows to celebrate our 25 wonderful years of marriage
I feel so happy that not only did he want to ask me once; but he did so again
Congratulations!
That is so exciting and sweet!

I LOVE these little random things, some of them are so funny

When I was 11, I was working with my dad at his auto repair shop for the summer. There was a Merkur (dont think I'll ever see another Merkur car again!) that needed a radiator hose, so my dad handed it to me and told me to do it. I put it on myself and was so proud that I left the grease all over my arm for the rest of the day to show off
Even when we went to pick my brother up from daycare.

I also used to build little forts in the corner between my bed and my dresser when I was younger, by putting a sheet over the corner and securing it. My kitties Mag & Battery used to come in and "camp" out with me in my fort. One time Battery gave me a "love bite". I didn't know that's what it was, and I cried so hard thinking he didn't love me anymore.

Over the river and through the woods...
When I was 11, I was a topless dancer. NOT by choice!
Let me explain....

I took tap dancing classes (high kicks chorus line type of thing) and was the most "physically mature" girl in the class. Our costumes for that years dance revue were these flimsy one shoulder things and NOT made for someone with a chest (you see where this is going, right?). So there I was, in the center of the line, on stage in front of 300 people, kicking my heart out...and suddenly I realized one of the "girls" decided to pop out and say hi! Let me tell you, it's very hard to untangle yourself while in a line to adjust your costume. And yes, my dad got the whole thing on video.

The next day my mom took me out to buy my first bra!

I think I was a sophmore in high school and attended one of those celebrity NFL basketball games. It was the Green Bay Packers vs local celebrities(newcasters and the like). At the end of the game they gave away and Green Bay Packer autographed football and I "won" it. This was like 1973-not a good football team that year. But all the kids around me were super jealous that a girl won it! And though the names are faded I still have it.

this is such a fun thread! The story about the bug in the ice cream made me laugh because a simliar thing happened to me with popcorn!

Another fact...I was an active member of the weather club when I was in high school and I used to broadcast the weather for one of the local radio stations in the mornings before class.

Gosh, nobody knows much about me anyway, so this should be easy. The problem is, trying to think of something that is interesting or exciting. Hmmm, let me think....

Bon Jovi was in the Harley dealer having something done to his bike while my hubby was there, and they started up a conversation, and he asked my hubby if he wanted to ride with their entire group up to Flagstaff the next day, but hubby declined because I had to work. Guess that's not too exciting because I wasn't there and didn't get to meet him. That's an "almost".

Was in a film with Charlie Sheen (a motorcycle movie), but have watched iti a couple of times and never seen myself, so think we ended up on the cutting room floor. Did see some of our friends, however. We didn't have any speaking parts, were just part of a long line of bikes going down the highway. Again, guess this is an "almost".

Well, heck, I can't think of anything really exciting! I used to ride my own Harley, that's something that I used to think was really exciting. Had to sell it though, when I developed balance problems. Boy, do I miss those days. But now I have more time to spend with my furbabies.

When I was a kid, I stepped on a big cross stitch needle and it went into the sole of my bare foot. I took off hopping and locked myself in my bedroom. Like a person holding hostages, I had to be convinced to come out so the needle could be removed. I guess for a few insane moments I thought I could go through life with a needle (red yarn attached) sticking in my foot. I gave up cross stitch on that very day, and I'm still not very crafty. (Yes, it was me that left the needle in the floor.)

Playing with Jazzy & Ginga.
When I was about 7 or 6 years old, I was playing football with my Dad, brother and friends. They had no football goals so we used soccer goals. Dad kicked it into the goals and I went back to get it and I tripped and knocked my two front teeth back, They had to be removed and they took about 3 years for the adult teeth to grow in there place.

Jackz, Jazzy & Ginga.

When I was 15 I had my picture taken with Clint Eastwood, he even had his arm around me!!!! That was a long time ago when Clint was hot. Actually he's still pretty hot for being a really old fart!

About ten years ago, I published our own family cookbook. I wrote a letter to my relatives, asking for (at least) ten of their very favorite recipes. They responded so well. I put everything together using the computer and added pictures of some of the recipes and lots of graphics. It came out so nice. It was dedicated to my grandmother who was the best cook I've ever known.
