Please help me...
I have 6 cats, (as you can plainly see
) and I've been feeding them Pro plan Sardines and Tuna for years!!!!! The problem? Now Pro plan has decided that they aren't going to make this food anymore so now I have to find a food that is not a pate, that two VERY finicky cats will eat. The other four I have no real problem getting them to eat pretty much anything as long as it's not a pate. So there you have it. My issue...
Can someone please help me find a food that is good quality, can't have alot of chicken one is allergic to chicken in large doses, and isn't a pate? UGH! Why do cat food companies have to mess with things that are selling fine? darn it all!

Barb,

Have you ever just considered buying frozen feeder mice and feeding them what they are supposed to eat? It is amazing how healthy they get when you feed mice. You can ask at feed stores if their freezer mice are parasite free or not-

I also thought of Weruva when I saw your post; they have a lot of fishy flavors.

Other possibilities that come to mind are Tiki Cat, Soulistic, and Wellness pouches.

I use the Nutro chunks with sauce formulas for Chester. He is not a fan of pate either.
You can look on the website to see if any of them suit your needs. There are quite a few varieties in the Natural Choice and Max Cat.

Good luck!

The tiki cat might be your answer, if you can find it.

I know how you feel, as my Tolly is very finicky, and every time I find a food he will eat and thrive on, something happens eventually and I have to start all over, and feel a deep despair over ever finding something he will eat.

Currently he is absolutely thriving on Innova Flex stew chicken and brown rice, but if the formula changes now that the company has been bought out, he will know, and I will be right where you are now.

Hissy, I don't think my cats would know what to do if I gave them a mouse to eat. They've seem mice over the years, but as far as catching them and eating them? Not so much. They will catch them, take them somewhere else, and let them go. I have really great mouse catchers.
The last time we had a mouse (in our old house), Hubby and I had to run around trying to catch it while the cats just watched. We finally caught it in little fish nets and tossed it back outside.

Thanks everyone for the info, I have some nutro I tried today and they seem to like the tuna and whitefish? I think it is. So if I can convince the finickiest of all of them, I have found their new food.

Chester is the same way. The mice he has caught he lets them go to play with them then they get away!
:lol3 One time he did eat one but he swallowed it whole then vomited it up the same way! ICK!
I decided from then on he could catch them but then I will take them away from him. I usually take the mice far away from our house and let them go if they survived him catching them.

I am glad they like the tuna & whitefish. Chester tends to like the fish formulas too. He can have a particular palate!

Tiki Cat and I think BFF (Best Feline Friend) have really fishy - all fish cat food that are not pate. The Tiki Cat Sardine is really good. My boys like it, but I try not to feed too many sardines - fatty fish and it makes their poo really smell!

I was feeding the same pro plan sardines and tuna.. I noticed that it wasn't on shelves anymore and just figured they sold that variety faster. Kind of bummed since my cat loves this food.
