adding cat to colony...

In my other post I spoke of this cat i trapped this morning.

I found him across the street but know he was once around the colony I now care for...

I know my neighbor wont want him back... I didnt tell her I have to return these cats for fear she'd turn me down to trap but doesnt really pay attention enough to notice who is who anyway.

But what if I let him out on my side of the street with the other cats????

I know if he wants to go back he will.... but if he saw the food there - maybe he'd stay. I just dont know how well he would be accepted and i dont want issues. Ive had cats come and go - but have had the same 10 for 8/9 months now. And one is really mean - may have even attacked the others.

Would you recommend trying this???? My point in doing so is at least I know he would be getting fed (IF he were to stay)- I dont know if my neighbor wants me feeding in her yard...

THANKS!!!

They will generally go where the food source is, but if he has been hanging around in her yard, there is probably a food source there.

However, even getting him neutered helps a lot with the population so its worth trying, the majority of cats I have added to our colony have stayed there
