I got my kitten Marvin's second set of vaccinations today, Sugar's also. Marvin is about 14 weeks old and Sugar is about 12 weeks. Ever since we got home Marvin's been laying in his cat bed sleeping. They both played briefly and ate a bit and used the litter box and Sugar has been fine. She napped but has been really frisky, ate a good dinner etc. Marvin has just been sleeping and laying around in the bed the entire time. I put him out by his food and he took a few tiny bites and a lap of water and then went back to his bed. He swatted at his toy mouse for a couple minutes and that was all.

After their first set of vaccinations Marvin was more lazy than she was but it wasn't this bad, but this is his first round of the leukemia vaccine so could it be the combo/new vaccine making him so tired? I feel really bad for him and it makes me sad. It's been a long time since I've had kittens their age so I don't remember how my other cats acted.

Is it normal?

I would have not got that shot.
That shot killed my Lucy and there is no reason to get that shot if the cats are indoor.
In fact it voids the contract of my cats if they were to get it.
I hope your cat feels better.

What do you mean it KILLED her?!

The doctor recommended it because we have outdoor cats that sometimes come in when the weather isn't favorable etc and our other indoor cats had the shots too. Sugar acts okay, but Marvin is the one that is being lazy/tired acting.
Is my kitty going to be okay!????

We don't have an after hours number. We don't even have a fulltime vet. The closest animal ER is over an hour away. I think I will watch him closely tonight and then in the morning if he's not acting better I'll call our vet.

My dad said he ate some early this afternoon when they woke up from their nap after their appointment. And he said he was playing fine and chasing the other kitten and running around etc. And then he laid down and slept for a long time and when he woke up he ate a few small bites of the wet food and drank like some water a couple of times this evening but then just laid back in the bed and slept more. He laid there awake for awhile and just watched us and watched the other kitten play and now he's laying back down again sleeping.
