My nine-year-old calico Missy began acting strangely this afternoon. It appears to be favouring its hip or right leg. There's no sign of injury and it seemed to come on suddenly this afternoon. She's an indoor cat. No idea how it may have injured itself becaue it was perfectly fine all day and then suddenly began favouring its back right leg. She can't sit. Everytime she sits she hunches her back and stand on all fours. She's not meowing like she's in pain, but she's keeping to herself and trying to hide under the bed. She's still eating. Any suggestions?

That could be anything. She needs to see a vet. My Chickster sprained a leg while playing and hobbled on it for a few days then was fine, but I wouldn't wait if she's not sitting properly and staying to herself. They hide illness very well.

She's never been sick before. If anything is encouraging she's still eating. If there was something seriously wrong, I'd think she wouldn't eat. She did purr when I scratched her neck and. Hopefully it's something minor but I think I'll be seeing a vet tomorrow.

Eating really doesn't mean much. I had a cat with a rectal prolapse(her intestines were literally hanging out of her rear end) and she was still eating. In fact you never would have known there was anything wrong with her by the way she was acting. They are very good at hiding illness.

The best thing is to see the vet just to make sure everything is ok with her leg since it sounds like she might need treatment for it.

I would call the vet and take her in to get checked. Waiting could make the problem worse.

It's possible that she hurt herself jumping up or down on something or in some other manner. I'd take her to the vet.
