I don't understand it. I love black kitties. The people in New England don't seem as against black kitties as you guys say.........I don't think so anyway. I'm no expert though.

It's not that people really have anything against black kittens/cats. They're just the last to get adopted because they don't stand out or are considered "ordinary." Personally, I think black cats are the most striking.

No takes on my sweet little guy over the weekend, although two gray kittens, a tortie and a calico in the cages around his all got homes. I'm happy for them, but so disappointed for Fergus.

My heart goes out to Fergus....
my little black beauty Isis, was overlooked by potential adopters at her shelter for 2 months; I almost did the same ....
it was the shelter staff who pointed her out to me when I was looking for a companion for Dexter. Without their involvement, I might have missed bringing our sweet Isis into our lives.

Sending gigantic, powerful vibes that someone, with a loving heart, notices
Fergus, then takes this precious boy home.

Fergus is such a cutie! I think that name is absolutely perfect for him. Not sure why, but he looks like a "Fergus"

Eventually I would like to get another kitty to keep Abby company. I think she would love another kitty companion provided the kitty was open to having a friend (unfortunately Chynna wasn't). I've had 2 black kitties in the past and I would love to have another one. Unfortunately I won't be able to adopt from the Humane Society because my apartment building doesn't officially allow pets, but while they turn a blind eye to mine, their official policy is still "no pets" and that is what the Humane Society will be told when they called the agency to check about pet allowance. And unless the agency gives its official "ok" to the Humane Society, they won't let me adopt
So..... I'll have to wait until my vet has some kitties to adopt out, or check in the news paper.

It's a good thing for me we're not near that PetsMart. MommyCat would take one look at Fergus and take him, even if she had to throw me out!
Not that I would go -- I'd have to stay with him too!

It looks like all the vibes have worked, because there were two applications on my little black foster kitten yesterday!
Please keep the vibes coming. There's an excellent change Fergus will be going home in the next couple of days!

Wonder news Eileen - hopefully one of the apps proves to be a good fit!

We have TONS of black kittens & orange kittens, it's insane.....everyone earlier in the summer was looking for orange kittens when we didn't have any.

Fergus is going to his new home this afternoon!
I actually know his adopters through a family member who referred them to the rescue. They're a wonderful young couple with three other cats, ages 4, 2, and 7 months. Fergus is about 4 1/2 months old now, so it'll be great for him to have another kitten to play with.

Thank you so much for the vibes!
Now, it's on to the next kitty.

Fergus!!! What great news. He is such a cutie.

I know I'm biased, but I just don't get how it's possible that EVERYONE doesn't love black kitties...

Fergus is now home and we got quite a surprise this afternoon before the adoption. He is a she!
There was some confusion when she entered the rescue and the mistake wasn't caught until her medical records were being copied today. Fortunately, the adopters weren't bothered by the gender change!

Guess they could just change her name to be Fergie, but they're going to think about it. I feel bad because I spent six weeks telling her she's a good and handsome little guy.
The main thing is that she has a wonderful home and people to love and spoil her.
