Today (Tuesday 6/13, for clarity's sake, since we're scattered across multiple time zones!) is the day I selected to celebrate the birthday of my handsome boy Jack.
Buddy Boy, you had me at first glance. I walked towards a huge wall of cages, and you caught my gaze immediately with those enormous red-gold eyes of yours. And you said, here I am. And I said, of course. And just like that, you had a home, and a place in my heart.
Three months later, you're my "Spaz Cat," my energetic, happy boy, so loving and such a perfect fit. You are Sophie's partner-in-crime, playmate, groomer, and cuddle-buddy, and she adores you. Your silly antics, spinning circles around the cat tree, chirping at the birds and insects outside the window, bouncing around the floor after a toy, keep the entire house smiling and happy.
I have no idea what your life was like in the months before I found you, what stresses or fears you may have had. But I can promise you that you will never know cruelty or violence or anger, and you will have all the love that you deserve.
