A few hours ago I get a call from my Grandmother. She and I are VERY much alike. She's a big softy, so am I.
She said that last night, around 10:00PM, she went to take garbage out to the dumpster, which she NEVER does at night, and felt something hit her leg. She looks down and see this beautiful little kitten, all wet from the rain, wanting some lovin'. Well Nan and her husband, Don, already have 2 beautiful kitties, but Nan couldn't leave this little doll outside. So the baby, who she believes is female spent the night. I THOUGHT Nan was going to ask me to foster the kitten, as that's what I do, but she has fallen in love with it.
Being seniors on very fixed incomes, Nan was worried about the vet bills, but I told her that IF she does decide to keep the baby, I will help with the associated vet bills. Tonight Dana and I will go over, properly sex the kitten, bring Nan some kitten food and just all around meet the little one who was obviously ment to meet my Nan last night. Here is the picture she just sent me.
She has named the baby Orphie the Orphan.

Wow both of them are really sweet...I'm jealous that you have a grandmother that is really sweet. Elders in my place hate cats

I thought the same thing when I saw the pic, but we'll know for sure tonight.
She was talking to me on the phone in the pic by the way.
I asked her to get Don to take a pic and email it to me.

That baby knew what he was doing when he when he approached your grandma. What a kind heart she has to take him in...He/ she knew they belonged together!!!! It was meant to be!!! It's a healthy looking little thing--so sweet

Orphie the Orphan is hardly an orphan anymore, now is he (or she)? And, what a wonderful thing that is!

Your nan and her husband are certainly softies indeed. But, who wouldnt be after running into such a cutie-pie? Orphie knew exactly what he (or she) was doing when rubbing up on your nan's leg. What a lucky kitten to have found a pair of seniors who were willing to take him (or her) in and then who had a granddaughter who is willing to help ensure that the baby gets the veterinary care he (or she) both needs and deserves. Orphie's going to be a much loved kitten and your nan and her husband will have a companion to always keep them on their toes with a smile on their faces.

Please let us know when you find out about the sex of the baby. And, we'll definitely need additional pics of Orphie the (newly "adopted") Orphan.

So the kitten IS a female!
A little beauty too, the picture doesn't do her justice. Nan and Don are so in love already, and who can blame them? She's smaller than she looks in the pic too, I'd say probably 10-12 weeks old and a real doll.
I'll get Don to send me more pics soon, and when he does, I'll be sure to post them!

Also, the kitten's name has been changed to Annie, as in little orphan Annie, per my suggestion.

Orphan Annie! So glad she's not an orphan anymore. So she's a gorgeous orange female! I'm so glad your Nan and Don are softies.

What a little cutie!

Your Nan and her husband are wonderful to take her in. I'm sure she'll repay the love.
