Hey everyone. Precious birthday is coming up towards the end of the month. I don't really have a specific day picked out to be her birthday (I don't know when she was born as she was abandoned at my grandma's house before I got to keep her.) but I am wanting to get her something nice for her birthday. I don't yet know what to get her. I am kind of limited to about $50 but that is more than I have spent on her in a couple of years so I am happy about that. I want to get her at least one toy and possibly even a bed. I have a bed in mind for her. It's made out of the same material that my bath robe is made out of. I know that she loves this material because when I first got the robe, she would lay on it and kneed it with her paws. She still does that from time to time if I lay it out where she can lay on it. Here is an image of the bed that I am wanting to get for her:

It is available through Dr Foster and Smith's catalog. It is rather expensive though. The least expensive version is the 18" version which costs approximately $32. The medium sized version at 26" is approximately $48. I am not sure which size to get her but I would like to get the medium sized version. However, I don't want to spend all of the birthday money on this bed. If I knew that the 18" would be big enough for her to sleep in comfortably, I'd get it. However, I am not sure how big an 18" slumber ball would be. I have a hard time imagining sizes and such when thinking about the numbers only. Do you think she would be able to sleep comfortably in an 18" size slumber ball? She is a medium sized Domestic Short-Hair. Thanks!

I imagine the size in inches quoted is the diameter of the bed, not the sleeping area, which in your photo looks about half the size of the diameter. So an 18 inch bed would only accommodate a 9 inch length kitty it would seem. The bed itself looks really nice and comfy. Think I'll go back to bed...:rolleyes.

I'm not sure about the sizing for that type of bed - I've never had one. I can tell you though, my 25 lb dog fits nicely in an 18 inch round bed. She likes to curl up, and that size is perfect.
My cats like rectangular beds, around 12-14 by 18-20 inches. That way they can stretch out, or curl up in the middle.
I think the size you need for your cat depends on how she prefers to sleep.
