HAHA Billy is sooo funny...Last night, my husband and I were sitting on the couch reading, and Billy decided it was time for him to get some attention. he climbed up the side of the couch, onto the armrest, and onto my lap. Than, he climbed over my book, walked around on the book a couple times and plopped down right on the open book.

Do your cats do this when they want love/attention? It cracks me up! And for those who haven't seen my other postings, Billy is my blind kitty, so him knowing EXACTLY where to go to lay on mommy was hilarious.
I also just brought home the book "Homer's Odyssey" (although it was not the book I was reading at the time though it would have been even better) so I am spending a lot of time reading that book, and laughing at how Billy is very much like Homer.

Awww, bless him, yes I can relate to this, usually they sit on my magazine when I am reading it, or walk on my laptop when I am busy

Sitting on the book, magazine, or computer keyboard guarantees attention!

I'd like to see more photos and videos of Billy.

He is SUCH a cutie and obviously feeling right at home these days! My cats generally like to be in the way wherever I am, on the computer, on the couch, in the bathroom, in the kitchen. You name it, they're there!

I think you should start a blog about Billy and your life together. What fun it would be to read!

I have tons of pictures of Billy, and a couple videos but I do not know how to upload videos onto here?

Also, I did start a blog, did a first post about Billy's homecoming, but was not sure if anyone would actually read it or be interested in reading it. If anyone would be interested, I can post a link. I have so many Billy stories I would love to share!

I'd enjoy reading your blog with the adventures of Billy! In addition, it could become a great resource for others who are thinking of adopting or have adopted a blind animal.

Definitely, all of my kitties seem to prefer the magazines (specially news papers) though.

I Love Billy. We have a little blind kitty at the shelter. I would love to learn how you interact with him. Any thing you've learned would be greatly appreciated. My Bella is deaf and that's a whole different challenge to me! Ok back to your question, I think all cats do this-"stop what you're doing and LOOK at me"...It's very cute that Billy does it...how very very sweet he must be! See, Bella's walking all over me right now, as I try to type this

Precious won't sit on what I am currently reading but if I am laying in bed and have some papers next to me that I intend to read in a moment, she'll lay on them and prevent me from doing so. Also, if I put my cell phone next to me while on the bed, she knows that I am expecting a call or something and so she will lay on top of the cell phone so as to try and prevent me from using it.

Oh yes, I have a few who do the same thing.
Actually, Imhotep does so not only when I'm reading, but also when he thinks I should be done with the laptop.
It IS HIS lap after all.

My kitties are good "helpers" too. They help me read, they help me do crosswords, they help my type on the computer ... LOL

And by "help" I mean plop down right in the middle of what I'm trying to do!!

Please do post a link to the Billy's blog!

Precious only tried getting on the keyboard once. She apparently didn't like it because she has never gotten on it since. I am honestly rather thankful for this.

My kitties are awesome helpers! I can't read, play on the computer or do anything without either the kittens or my dogs "helping" me. They like to sit behind the monitor, and reach around to show me which buttons to type. They like to sit on my book (I think they want me to make sure I read that page REALLY well). They are also very good at using the mouse pad on the laptop. They leave a paw or tail there, so using it just increases and decreases the size of things.

Mine love bothering me when I'm not fully devoted to giving them attention. Both of my girls love stepping all over my laptop. They've been known to knock things off my lap to get into it. LOL

For anyone interested, I have a blogspot blog about Billy...I kind of condensed his first two weeks in our home on it, and will regularly update on him & his general awesomeness
I could write a million pages about him I think...he is an amazing kitten. He does so much each day that we just think is wonderful/smart...so if you would be interested in reading, the link *should* work? If not let me know..!

Yep both of mine do this when they want attention. Spooky doesn't do it as much anymore now that he's a little older he just sits and stares at me using his mind control until I give him whatever he wants. Mulder still does this with everything, he even tries to do this with our dinner when he wants attention (or food) during our supper time!

Billy is really adorable, I too look forward to reading his blog and learning about how you interact with him with his visual disability.

Ritz "skims" what ever book I happen to be reading, and if she really doesn't like it, tends to chew the pages. I get my books from the public library, so she is probably picking up on the smells.
