i have been trying to catch the rest of a litter of kittens and i was luring them today and did a stupid thing.. tried to grab one. the one i caught was pretty tame, so i was not expecting its sib to react like she did. in any case she bit me and broke the skin. so now i am wondering.... do i need to go get a rabies shot?? i do not think any of the cats around here have ever had rabies, but there have been some in the area. how paranoid should i be?

I found the text in this book spot on, but the illustrations aren't helpful at all. Good over all book

This mat caught my eye because of its size and texture, which traps fine litter rather well. It's large enough for jumbo litterboxes, which is also a plus. It's not quite as easy to clean as a...

This scoop was a freebie with some clumping litter I bought last year, and I like it so much that I've bought a second one. It's perfect for fine clumping litter, which it sifts very thoroughly....

Cat bites, especially feral cat bites, can be incredibly serious. If not a rabies shot, you should at least get a tetnus shot if you are not up to date on it. Also the doctor may perscribe you antibiotics as cat bite wounds can get infected incredibly easily. Always better to be safe rather than sorry.
Good luck.

I was bitten very bad/deep by one of the litter mates of my cats that I had back in '07 when they were kittens. I was worried just like you but I waited a few days to see if it got worse but it turned out ok. She bit me so hard that it was purple and bruised for A WEEK!! If you are too concerned/worried then I'd go to the hospital but I don't think its needed.

I found my Lola outside a few weeks ago and got bit in the process as well. I went to see my family doctor and he gave me a tetanus shot. He said a rabies shot wasn't really necessary as there have been no reported rabies outbreaks in the area. He said to come back if I feel sick as I still may need a rabies shot.

I'd recommend the tetanus shot. If you are still worried about rabies get out there and catch the kitten.
I was bitten by a kitten 4yrs ago. I didn't let him get away though. We became attached while I was keeping him quarantined. Sasha has lived with me ever since.

You may need an antibiotic shot, watch it for swelling, if the area around it is very red, draw a circle around the red area and if it spreads go to the doc
Cat bites, even kitten ones can be serious, but I have been bitten several times and never had a serious infection, but I have seen someone get scratched and end up in hospital
