Neck biting!

Lately I've noticed 3 of my (male) cats have been grabbing their female littermate by her neck a lot. They just turned 2 years old.
They've done this before but lately it is happened a lot more often. They will make a noise and then straddle her and bite her neck HARD and hold on, like they would in a mating ritual I guess although they were all neutered before puberty. They only do this to my smallest cat. I usually run over and pull them off her but I am not always there to stop them. I am not sure what I can do to prevent this, I feel bad for poor Harley, they will hold on to her neck for a long time if I don't shoo them off.

Being neutered and spayed, it is a dominance thing.

My cat Fetch does this to his sister. I have to go and redirect him.. I notice tho that it is becoming less a problem as he gets older.

I also use a spray bottle, although I don't spray him. I just shake it and maybe spray in a different direction.

I know this is frustrating behavior. Hopefully as they get older, it will stop. I don't know what else to offer other than maybe seperate them for a bit and be vigilant when you hear them misbehaving.

My Osiris and Cleo II are littermates, almost 6 years old and Ossie STILL does this to his sister, although not incredibly often. Cleo is pretty vocal and full of cattitude, so she usually puts him in his place.

Tomas will do this to Tanna when she's being annoying... he's just doing what everyone else is thinking, making her shut up.

I'm pretty lucky, all I have to do is tell Tomas to knock it off and he lets her go. Will your males listen if you tell them to or do you actually have to physically intervene? For the most part they need to sort it out themselves, but it is good to step in if the other cat is getting really stressed.

I try to be, but I'm not always home. I was away for a week last week and now they are doing it a lot more, I guess since I wasn't here to stop them for a week.

Sometimes they listen. I usually tell them "Hey! Stop it" and sometimes that works but sometimes I have to go to "hissing" at them (they were bottlefed and think I'm their momcat so they listen when I hiss) but lately that hasn't been working well either. If that doesn't work sometimes they will stop if I just walk towards them but sometimes I actually have to lift them off her or even pry their mouths off her neck (if they don't let go when I try to lift them.)
