Within the past couple of years, I have taken in a few litters (offspring of feral cats) to prevent further litters. I raised the kittens and had them fixed when they were old enough. Of course, all are full grown now. They are tame and loving, as they have had lots of attention since they were young. However, the other day I got in trouble with animal control for having more than the legal limit of cats. I guess they would have preferred I let nature take its course and let the neighborhood be overrun with feral cats! In any case, I would like to find a no kill shelter willing to take all of them. However, I do not know of anybody who will take them, except for the pound. They are really sweet, and I would love for them to have some forever homes. Any help/advice would be appreciated. I am located in Southern CA Thank you.

You can search www.petfinder.com for shelters/rescues in your area. Look into them to see if they are no-kill, and in what instances they euthanize (IMO, there is no true "no-kill" as they all euthanize in some instances). Where are you located, as we may be able to help find a place (depending on where members are located)?

Given that it is kitten season, most places are so full they aren't accepting surrenders, esp adult cats. Adults just do not get adopted this time of year.

Have you tried checking with local vets, family, & friends to see if they know of anyone who would be willing to adopt?

Humane Society has a list of feral cat groups by state. You might be able to get some referrals from them.

I also have these sites that may or may not be listed:
Animal Match Rescue Team, Inc. "AMRT.NET is dedicated to facilitating adoption of shelter and rescue pets in the Southern California area." They also have a list of shelters.
http://www.amrt.net/

LA County Department of Care & Control has a list of shelters.
http://animalcare.lacounty.gov/

Adopt-A-Pet has a list of shelters.
http://www.adoptapet.com/

Rescuers.com has a list by county.
http://www.rescuers.com/shelters.htm

Some of these lists might be redundant and many are not no-kill.

Good luck!
